Bipartisan?
The House and Senate have been in conference for two days hashing out the final details of this crappy package. There is one conspicuous omission, there are no Republicans. Also they are not releasing the text of the new bill and both Republicans and Democrats as far as I can tell are expected to vote on it sight un seen. They know that Republicans won't vote for it either way, so why are they doing this, to keep it from you the American taxpayer, they don't want you to know, they have been feeling the heat. Even though we don't know for sure, there are reports that much of the original House pork has been put back in. We shall see just how much guts our Senator from Maine has, she said she would withdraw her support if that happened. That is actually the best case scenario, if all 3 Rinos withdraw their support and it becomes a true Democratic bill. Pelosi says she could care less if it gets Republican support, she is an arrogant whitch. House vote slated for early today and the senate later today. One can only hope for a miracle.
Economy slightly better?
Hannity reported last night that retail sales are actually up slightly and foreclosures down. I don't know where he got his information, I searched from Cspan to the Wall Street Journal and couldn't find any verification that it is true. If so, it is as we expected the best chance we have to end this recession is to do nothing but lower corporate tax, Newt is suggesting it be 12% like Ireland. I am so against bail outs, let them fail, this is America you have a right to fail. If 2 of the big 3 car companies make it, they will be stronger and absorb the other workers in all likelyhood. Worst case is they all fail and 2 new companies are formed without all the baggage. These Companies will compete strongly with other cars made here by foreign companies. Actually they already compete very well considering all the disadvantages they operate under and now government intervention to make it worse. Or they can go through a real restructuring, not the government telling them what they can and can not do. Bail out after bail out will only make them weaker. I have run several small businesses, some failed and some had moderate success, enough to pay the bills and have a somewhat decent lifestyle. I couldn't imagine taking orders from the government, telling me how I move people and how much I can pay them, anyone else see something wrong with this picture. These companies have given up their freedom and we are next, they want to control every aspect of you life. Give me a bad economy and my freedom any day, the economy will come back but the measures taken in the name of stimulus will be forever, forever bad. The very thread of our country is in jeopardy and those that think they will be getting something for nothing will soon realize they will get nothing and the nanny state will run every aspect of their life, they will then join us but it might be too late.
