Amazing how much damage you can do in a month

I have never in my life time remember a President that is so deceitful.  He will say whatever it is that he thinks will pacify the American people and make them feel good about him.  Then he does whatever he chooses, normally the exact opposite of what his words are.  A kind of bait and switch.  He was going to fix everything during the election and then his victory speech he lowers expectations, knowing there is no way.  Stimulus the same thing, it is going to solve everything, but the ink isn't even dry and they are talking Stimulus two, in one short month there is a list of these lies.

It took me a while to figure out what this deficit reduction charade is about.  He is no more going to cut the deficit than he is going to invite me to the White House.  But he is going to pump up the idea, which is a good one, we need to balance the budget and cut deficits.  This will lead to the next step which is the excuse to increase taxes in the name of deficit reduction, but it won't be deficit reduction it will be massive spending.  Of course there is no amount of  tolerable tax increase that will balance his huge spending and decrease the deficit by a nickle.  But that will all be forgotten once he gets the money approved and I am afraid the American people are unconscious at the moment, have taken their eye off the ball believing his lies .

The first President I was aware of was Eisenhower.  So I have seen a fair amount of Presidents, I haven't liked every idea of any of them, but they had my respect and most really had the best interest of the country in mind, even if they were wrong, I will even include Carter and Clinton in that bunch.  This guy just doesn't care.  He must know like we know that this is totally the wrong direction, but it seems to fit with his vision of power and he seems to want more than a President should have and will pay any price, even the fall of our economic system and maybe the country.  We are a strong country and down deep I think we can get through this if it is only 4 years and the Republicans do well in the 2010 mid terms.  But I am not so sure if those two things don't happen if we can really survive without a drastic demise in our standard of living.

There is some hope, there are people like Bobby Jindal (Loisanna Govenor) on the horizon and even during the pre primaries I heard his name in connection with a bid for the white house in 2012, he would get my vote in a minute.  He is refusing to take the stimulus package money, unfortunately it can be over ruled by the state congress, hopfully that won't happen.  His reasoning is sound, this is not just politcal posturing.  Little known is this money comes with a price, it is short term funding for a long term commitment.  He understands this is just going to be a drain on his economy, really just a mandate with strings.  He has also been choosen to give the Republican response to Obama little chat to congress, I think it is Wednesday night.  I don't think I can watch Obama but would like to see Govenor Jindal.

I haven't gotten much response through the blog, not sure why, I can take a good discussion if you see faulty logic.  But it is a good way for me to structure my ideas and to vent, so I guess all is not lost.  Thanks Donnie for the comment, for some reason I can't email you a notification of my comment, so check it out.
