Fine mess you have us in Ollie

Been a while since I had an inspiration to write anything, when there is so much bad happening it is hard to focus and don't they know it.  They have us just where they want us, my friends we lost a whole lot of our liberties yesterday and another brick from the wall that will lead to total collapse of our economy in short order if we can't stop the bleeding.

I have an idea, lets kill the 5 Judges that called CO2 a pollutant, because they breath it out several thousand times a day.  What an upside down world we live in.  Al Gore who was barely Competent as an elected official some how has become our Scientist of record, I know after all he did invent the internet.  The theory of global warming is just bad science, the fact that ever so slightly the earth's atmosphere is  cooling, under Gore's and the 5 men in black's theory we should be pumping every greenhouse gas we can into the atmosphere.  The truth is that no matter how much we tried we couldn't affect climatic changes one way or the other, CO2 is miniscule in the atmosphere and a non  factor in  green house effect, we are chasing our tail here.  That is the rouse, the fact is Cap and Trade has nothing to do with the atmosphere and everything to do with power.  They simply don't care that they are ruining the country, it just doesn't matter to them, I know it is a hard concept to get your mind around and don't you think they don't know it, but the facts are clear "Country First" is just not something that ever enters their mind.  This has been happening for 80 years or so, what makes it different is the ruthlessness of Obama, he just doesn't care, he doesn't care if he doesn't get reelected, this makes him a really dangerous person, his idealogy is the only thing that matters, nothing else.  He is about to get his wish, everyone will be the same, poor, well everyone but him and his croonies.

8 Republicans voted for this piece of crap, I don't know who they are yet, but I will be contributing to opposing conservatives to get them the out of there.  Surpising there were 43 Democrats that voted no, it would also be interesting to see how they have voted on other issues, maybe they want to join the Republican party.  The fact is, this is really not a partisan issue, it is just one terrible idea that needs to be stopped.  Conservative estimates say that every family will be burdened with more than $3000 every year directly because of this bill, mean while we have perfectly good sources of energy sitting there and we can't drill for it, Obama wants to put the coal industry out of business, they only supply 80% of our electricity, this bill gives him the means to do that.  Everything from food to heating fuel will be affected.  Truthfully,  $3,000 more a year in my situation puts me out of the game, I know we couldn't do it, our whole lifestyle would need to be altered.  I guess I would have to give up cable, wait I don't have cable, give up that vacation, wait we have never gone on a vacation, hmmm.... there must be something.... well we could eat a little less, find things that will grow in Maine in the winter.....  drop the heat down, if we did more of that we would have hypotherma.....  we could  give up driving except to work... wait we already do that....   I am smart.... don't worry I will think of something.  I know your saying you could give up Internet but the small amount of income I have is directly releated to the internet, so that doesn't work.  Oh, I could use those stupid smart light bulbs.... hmmm... Oh yeah we already do that,  everytime I see one of those save money segments on TV,  I watch intensely, same old.... same old.  Any ideas?

Sad to say, it will take a bigger miracle to stop in the Senate, the best chance was in the house, it was a squeaker but the bad guys won the day.

I don't know how we got this stupid.  Our educational system certainly has something to do with it, when tenure means more than teaching and unions are stronger than school boards.  We have less than a year in my opinion for the country to come to its senses, beyond that I am afraid it is just all lost and there will be no going back to the country we all loved.

This post is nothing earth shattering, just my feelings this morning for what it is worth and now I am off to a wedding, where these poor Obama voters will have to deal with these issues long after I am dead, I am secure in the knowledge that at least I didn't shoot myself in the foot, they shot me in the foot..... ouch ... hurts either way.

A small price to pay

Many of you may have already seen this and contributed, if not you should.  He is right, there is enormous money being poured into Democratic campaigns by special interest groups, we will never raise that kind of money but every little bit helps.  I have directly to the fund to dislodge Harry Reid and will give to this one as well.  We are far from rich but I can give up a little something to restore this country for my grandkids.  Read below and contribute what you can.

 Dear Friend:

I would like to invite you to join an important group I started that is working to elect true conservatives to the United States Senate.

As you know, President Obama and congressional Democrats are ramming through billions in bailouts, stimulus plans, and pork-barrel projects as fast as they can.

And they plan to effectively eliminate the right of workers to a secret ballot union election, which is a massive power grab for Big Labor. In return, unions will funnel millions into their campaign war chests to elect even more liberals to Congress.

We desperately need principled leaders in the Senate to stop them, and we need those leaders now.

This is why I formed the Senate Conservatives Fund (SCF). Its mission is to bring bold leadership to Washington by supporting only the most rock-solid, conservative candidates nationwide -- candidates who believe in limited government, a strong national defense, and traditional family values.

Our ultimate goal is to maximize freedom, security, and prosperity through conservative policies.

We work to accomplish this goal by making direct contributions to candidates, educating voters on critical issues, and building a grass roots army of like-minded conservatives across the country.

And let me be absolutely clear about something. SCF does not support liberal Republicans and it is not affiliated with the Republican Party or any of its campaign committees. It is entirely independent and will actively support conservatives in Republican primaries.

I am writing today to ask for your help and I'm hoping you will answer the call. There are three easy things you can do that will help us fight for our freedoms:
  1. Join our team and sign up for SCF email updates. We will send you occasional emails about key Senate races and important debates in the Senate.

  2. Make a small contribution to fund our efforts. Your contribution of $10, $25, or even $50, combined with the support of thousands of others, will make a major impact.

  3. Forward this email to your friends. We all know people like us who love their country. Now we need to invite them to join the fight.
There are 515 days until the 2010 elections and SCF has already begun to make endorsements. We have a lot of work to do and no time to waste. Our candidates can win but only if they have the resources and only if we start working now.

Thank you for considering how you can help. Working together, I know we can strengthen the Senate and take back our country.

Go here and do what you can.

Sincerely,

Jim DeMint Signature

A little late

Better late than never doesn't apply here.   I seldom listen to Glenn Beck but did this morning because I had to be in the car and a little hard to drive and read a book, he brought up Cloward and Piven.   It is well known that Obama worked for and believed in the mission of ACORN for better or worse, mostly worse.  We knew of all his radical ties, no one paid any attention, just right wing propaganda. We knew he was an advocate of Saul Alinsky (Rules for Radicals) again nobody cared, he smiled nice and spoke so eloquently, isn’t he pretty.  ACORN was founded on the paper of Cloward &  Piven who also found a hero in Alinsky as a minor point.  Reading both Cloward & Piven’s “A strategy to end poverty”  and Alinsky’s “Rule for Radical are like watching a movie you have already seen, Obama’s play book.  When I say that Obama wants to ruin our Capitalist system, people think I am a nut, but that is exactly what Cloward and Piven instruct their radicals to do and Obama is a believer.  C&P strategy was to collapse the system and rebuild it to be more equal in their mind, isn’t that exactly what is happening, Obama knows exactly what he is doing and it will collapse the system, we need to stop it but it won’t be stopable unless more people take an interest.  The real question that these people should be asking is how did we let this happen and how can we stop it, not calling you crazy because you have learned the truth.  90% of this was there before the election, all that one had to do is look at it and not dismiss it, but dismiss it they did and they are still dismissing it, because it is hard for them to believe that someone so diabolical could be our President, well believe it, just look at it with an open mind, or don't open your mind the results will be the same, even the most ardent follower will say “What did we do”.

I keep saying it.  I know it is uncomfortable and I tell this to my wife all the time and she doesn’t listen either, it doesn’t matter what they think of you, you have to spread the message, one day it will all click, hopefully before the 2010 election.

Then there are the people that are actually looking forward to all this, why? it is not clear to me.  The other day a caller to Mark Levin, supposedly a lawyer, he couldn’t wait for all the communist system to take its full affect, my words it would be hard to put it in actual context but in affect that is what he said.  Mark as a PHD in Law knows all about how the law schools are as liberal as they can possibly be, so I guess it didn’t surprise him very much, but there is no line at all between a liberal and a communist now a days, I know PC, they should be called socialist but lets call it the way it is, they are Communist.

So we all talk to one another, we all know what is going on, we read, we listen and we discuss and all is nothing more than preaching the choir.  Even Newt the other day on one of the Sunday shows was talking like Colin Powel, Susan Collin and Olympia Snow (I get their news letters) and the stupid big tent.  There is no big tent, just right and wrong. Right and wrong is a matter of perspective.  Most people wouldn’t think a person voting for the Democratic  party should have a say in  the politics of the Republican party, we would call that infiltration.  Infiltration is just what has happened.  Colin Powel has shown his colors,  why would people continue to listen to him, I can see why the MSM pushes his agenda but don’t buy it, it is garbage.  We don’t need a moderate Republican Party, that is what got us here and will continue to hand elections to the Democrats, for as long as it matters, soon your vote will mean nothing, that is what communism is all about, we are so close to a totalitarian government right now, that in a couple of years it will be complete.  The government controlling every aspect of your life.  What and if you drive a car, what kind of light bulb, how much water your toilet uses, Value added taxes so you barely make a living and become dependent, even though their false utopia will supply nothing but false promises.

One of two things is going on here, I am either crazy and very wrong or I see it clearly and most of the people don’t.  Of course I am not the only one and it could be that I am brain washed, but I don’t think so, I read a very diverse set of materials, from C&P to Rules for Radical to the Constitution, every history book I can get my hands on.  The Constitution is very plainly written, it doesn’t take a law degree to interpret it.  I have been on a political journey.  I wasn’t born a conservative, far from it.  I am jewish, that automatically makes me a Democrat or an outcast, why this is true I have no idea.  My father a big FDR fan was as close to a communist as you can get and as I look back only the label was left off, in all other ways he would be quite at home with Marx and today Obama.  I don’t know about all liberals, but my father read paperback trash, I read good history books and couldn’t see what you could ever get out of what he read.  So I consider myself a “Born Again American”, where the country seems to be “A born again Communist”.  Am I bitter, although I would never admit it in a discussion, yes I am, my country is being wasted and there is little I can do to change it, where am I to go Canada? Britain? An island?  Costa Rica? I don’t know, it is worth the fight but at some point there might be a decision that needs to be made.  Where can I go and get the medical care I need, the liberty I desire and the country that I once had, any ideas?  Even if you have done all the right things as we have and established a decent retirement, what will you have left when the government gets finished with all their taxes and the hyper-inflation that is inevitable from the monsterous borrowing.  The sad part is I am one of the lucky ones, I had a nice life even though the last years will be rough, my kids and their kids and their kids will never know what it was like living in the “Land of the free and the home of the brave”.

Take a deep breath, its going to be a hard battle.

As we celebrate another convenient holiday, heaven forbid we should actually celebrate without a long weekend.  I do hope during your BBQ’s and festivities you had a chance to think of our fallen heros.  The ones that have been disabled as well as killed in the defense of this still great nation.  Hopefully we will give our heros a nation as we know it to come back to, that is going to be our mission, it doesn’t mean catching a bullet or terrible brain damage, just talking to people and let them know what they are not seeing on the nightly news.  Our bullets are those of shuns and ridicule at times, now is that so bad, but if they hear it enough they may take head and that is what we need.    We can’t make everyone a conservative, we just want them to vote like one.

God Bless you all for being part of the solution and not part of the problem.

Who is demonstrating now?

We all remember the Tea Parties and hopefully that spirit will continue right through the 2012 election.  Although the enemy isn't stupid, they won't think about raising taxes until after the 2010 election, gee I wonder why.

Now of course it is onward for the Administration and the ruining of our health care system.  Demonstrations are scheduled  across the country to demand a system of health care that uses our health-care dollars to extend quality health care to all and to stop financing insurance and pharmaceutical corporate profit, in their words.  They go on to use bogus numbers stating we have the 37th ranking health care system in the world, but looking more closely as with Global Warming, they have manipulated the results to suit their agenda, no question we are #1 in health care, nobody is rushing to these other countries for health care as they do the USA.  Here is the catch, Atlanta had 25,000 people at the Tea Party, let us see if they get 500 at this event, but the press will play it up like a demonstration out of the 60’s.  Here in Maine they are planning a counter demonstration but I wonder how effective that will be, they will stand back and make it look like there are more of them when it is more of us and focus on the signs of the Communist(there I said it, sugar coat it anyway you like, we are turning into a communist country of our own valishion). As Newton stated in his third law of physics, for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.  In response to the World Health Organization(another UN type bashing USA type organization that is being used for the bible of the Health Care movement) is the Cato Institute report,  Download Cato report here
We can only hope that people are paying attention and see the big hole the left is digging for them self.  Our task is to find an run good conservative candidates in 2010, so far I see little of that happening.  In my state nobody want to take on the Congressman Michaud because he is established with enormous amounts of money and money talks now a days more than ideas, sad isn't it?

Hasn't anyone noticed that every single thing the Government does is a disaster, only covered up by the massive amounts of debt they can add, so it doesn't look like it affects your life.   How can a sane person think that wealth appears from thin air, as far back as history goes, governments have been accountable and haven't been able to spend what they don't have without borrowing.  The interest alone on our debt if we were not to take on another penny is over $600 Billion a year, that is pure wasted money.  At some point nobody will be willing to buy our debt because we can't pay it off.

Just more happy news.  I suspect for all the belly aching about Bush, he will be viewed by history as a pretty good President and Obama will be rated among the worst if not taking the prize.  That is assuming we have better people writing history books than writing in our newspapers.

California shows us hope

A state that can be a little fickled voted 61.5% Obama and 37.1% McCain in the 2008 Presidential Election.  Did they know what they were voting for, I doubt it by the looks of yesterday's blood bath.  At the moment it is hard to think of a State as bad off as California, although Michigan might give them a run, talk about shooting your self in the foot, what were they thinking, I suppose they weren't.

They are saying now, you have to get creative to solve this problem that you created and expect us to solve, I applaud them, it isn't the peoples problem, let the Governor and the legislature make the tough choices, that is what they are being paid for.  Although, I guess the Governator doesn't take a salary and he still seems to be over paid.  Just another Rino like the ones we have here on the other coast in Maine. Here are the results of the special election.

— Proposition 1A would have been the most damaging to taxpayers, as it would extend tax hikes on sales, income, and vehicles for two years, to the tune of $16 billion. It was disguised as a spending cap, but that cap was weak. Voters sniffed out the tax hikes and overwhelmingly opposed them 66-34.

— Proposition 1B didn’t fare much better, as it was rejected by a 62.5 to 37.5 vote. This measure was Gov. Schwarzenegger’s bow to the all-powerful teachers unions. It would have thrown an addition $9.3 billion toward education. It hoped to draw that money from the rainy day fund 1A would have established (so much for a spending cap). Thankfully for taxpayers, both measures were defeated.

— Proposition 1C would have allowed the state to borrow against future lottery revenues, about $5 billion. You have to give state government credit for creativity — they’re tops when it comes to new and innovative budget gimmicks that ignore the reality that they consistently spend outside their means. Voters recognized that Prop 1C ignored this fundamental reality and rejected it 65-35.

— Proposition 1D would have shifted almost $2 billion from the California Children and Families Program into the general fund to close the budget gap. This is more budgetary maneuvering that would have left taxpayers on the hook when the program’s funding was inevitably restored. It lost 66-34.

— Proposition 1E failed by the same 66-34. Like Prop 1D, it would have diverted funds from elsewhere in the budget to shore up general-fund overspending (about $230 million annually from Proposition 63 — a tax on the rich).

— Proposition 1F was the only measure to pass. It imposed a weak limit on pay raises for legislators, theoretically disallowing them during budget deficit years. Regardless of its actual teeth, the results show true populist outrage in California: The measure passed by a resounding 74-26.

This may or may not be an indicator for the 2010 election, I sure hope that it is.  The Democrats are saying they will pick up another 10 seats in 2010, I will seriously think about selling my house for 1/2 of what it is worth and moving somewhere, not sure where, we need at least a filibuster Senate to slow them down if not a majority which would be hard to obtain but not impossible.  More of what we have seen will just bankrupt the country far sooner than anyone might imagine.

Is there really a drought in California?

Frankly I can't tell.  The official California site has a bunch of pictures that make no sense to me,  not a lot in actual numbers.  I fear that this is just another man made political issue like Global Warming(which is now Global cooling because they couldn't get the globe to co-operate).  Here is what I do know, there is water, enough water for farmers to grow our food and most of the food for the country and some of the world comes from California, so this isn't a regional issue but a big issue for the entire country unless you grow all your own food.  I am wondering if this is just another way for California to get more and more Federal funds for their every increasingly bad government, this isn't such a bad theory when you think about it a while.  In the Central Valley the problem is there is water but they have turned off the pumps to protect a fish(that's right a fish).  Why does that not surprise me, we have modified our entire life style and it isn't nearly over for a few wild animals, I am sorry I just can't be convinced that as cute as some of these cuddly creatures are that they should take precedence over human life, especially when they can be easily moved or even coexist without a problem.

I think you will find this audio from the inside interesting, the premise is there is no dramatic drought but a political issue concerning these fish that are not even indigenous.  So far this fish has brought suffering to 10’s of thousands of people in the Central Valley and it will work its way into your grocery store by way of shortages, imported food and higher prices yet again.  Listen to this audio clip and let me know what you think, I am not saying it is the definitive statement but it sure brings to light issues that the elite don’t want you to know about.

What is important to you?

As many of you know, I am working with Maine Patriots and one of the research team.  What this means is we need to determine what it is we need in our state and federal representatives.  This sounds easier than it really is for all kinds of reasons, a lot of smoke and mirrors as you can imagine.

This has me thinking hard on what are the most important issues of the day and how can state representatives first of all support those goals.  If we didn’t have such an upside down country we would be looking for our state representatives where most of these things belong, but what we have is a circumvented constitution so we need to work within the frame work that we have and stop gripping about it and start changing it.

Like most people, I initially thought that the economy was the big issue but it has moved down to #4 for me and I am going to explain.  The long and the short of it is without security, money is useless.  So security both local and national has become #1.  As part of that illegal immigration becomes second.  And third is an issue that was never even on my radar until I gave it serious thought, that is gun control.  All of these tie together as one main issue really and that is security.  We are not a mean country no matter what M.O. says, want to know mean read about the French Revolution, where the slower the death the better it was liked by the people and hundreds of peoples heads were presented as a badge of courage on pikes held in the air.  Thankfully for the most part we live in a better age, but that is here, there are places in the world that human life means nothing and even here, a stupid fish in California is causing misery for 10’s or thousands of people and ultimately will lead to the US being dependent again on international sources for something we should do here, that is grow our own food, start a victory garden folks, with lots of canning.  BTW, when this is reported it is called a drought, there is no drought, they just refuse to turn on the pumps because it will hurt the fish, what a screwed up country we have become.

I created a scenario in my head that scares me to death.  Let us say your business is doing pretty well and your just about to close a nice international to add to your wealth.  You need to fly to Paris to consummate the deal, you fear for your family while your gone because they have taken legal guns away and your security people have to make due with ancient methods of defence.  There are a few small local wars as there always are but nothing that involves the big nations of the world, but terrorist still get into our country through our open borders and other people that will do anything because they are starving.  The scene is, your economic situation is pretty good, but what good is it when you have to live in fear.  While your gone your house could be breached and your family killed and trucks loaded up with your valuables, who is going to stop them, they took most of the police off the street because they could no longer afford to pay them.  You can’t do what Warren Buffett, Soros and that bunch have done, which is to buy a small island that is safe and secure it with their own forces.  You don’t have that kind of money and you also need to be on top of your business at all times.  This has the makings of a frightening novel with truth on every page that just hasn’t happened yet.

So there it is, over the last few months my whole outlook on what is important is slightly different, not in big ways but just a rearrangement.  The scary part is our government at the moment will not recognise any of these issues as big, just a bunch of lip service and take bibles away from soldiers in Afghanistan because they accuse them of trying to convert the locals the christianity and give lip service to sending more troops.  Let us stand for liberty and support representatives that stand for liberty.  I mean liberty in a very general way, without security there is no liberty, without property there is no liberty, our government doesn’t offer security and wants to take our property, these people need to go in the worst way.

Captitalism verse Free Market Capitalism

It has bothered me for some time.  Why do big capitalist support the left?  It just didn't make any sense to me.  Then I read Shadows of Power where something clicked for me.  Sure small time business loves the free market place but huge businesses despise it, these little guys are always a thorn in their side, Microsoft is always being sued by some small company because of un fair practice.  There was an interesting quote from one of IBM's high officials about microsoft, he said they still act like a struggling small company where they can get away with ruthless tactics.  So why do Warren Buffet, Bill Gates, The Rockerfellers support the left?  It is a simple concept but hard to get your brain around at first.  What is the biggest monopoly, of course it is the federal government, if they some how manage and they have been trying since the Woodrow Wilson Presidency to completely control the government, they will have the monopolies they seek.  I rattled that around in my head for while, although willing to accept it, but still in the back of my mind, was that the real reason?

Something happened this week that cemented the idea in my head as just about fact.  It starts with a comparison between two large companies that took bail out money.  One GM and the other GE capital.  GM was not a supporter of Obama(although as we know the UAW was) and the Democratic party,  GE on the other hand was a direct contributor in more than one way.  Not only did they give to the campaign but they also own the TV networks NBC, MSNBC and CNBC.  The later was probably more crucial to their present great situation as I will explain.

GE capital took $140 billion in bail out money, as far as I can tell GM took $13.8 billion it may be a little more than that it is hard to keep track, but in any event GE got around 10 times the amount that GM got.  Was GE asked to reorgainize, were they asked to give back bonuses ala AIG, was the CEO asked to step down because of mismanagement, no to all, gee I wonder why?

Now what is an absolute collusion,  GE with Intel as its partner is spending $6 billion of what I assume is our money in what they are calling health care innovation.  What is really is, a big data base that will allow them to ration services for the government health care system of which they will be sole supplier, sounds like a monopoly to me.  This is when it struck me, I think I have this figured out.  I am betting Microsoft will never loose another anti trust suit and in fact no big donator will ever be a looser again.  Look out for adds on GE owned media for how wonderful the work they are doing presumably in our behalf to improve health care.  Folks health care isn’t broken, not to say there are not problems here and there, but wait until the government screws it up, you haven’t seen anything yet.

How many times do the voters need to say no

Yet again gay marriage rears it ugly head in Maine.  This has been voted down by the voters already.  Then side stepped through the legislature almost as bad as the judicial ruling in California, I suspect that will be next if they ultimately loose this one.  As I have stated before I stand to loose my conservative merit badge because I don’t really care one way or the other who marries who.  But what I do care about is the legislature going against the will of the people.  Seems like they have all committed political suicide but the Govenor who it term limited.  A side note, if this was a national issue I would be dead against it, where it is being decided is where it belongs.

Now it is likely to go before the people yet again for a peoples veto, which I assume will take a larger vote than the original one, but there is a dynamic that the bill has working against it, people don’t like to have things jammed down their throat, which is why I think we will prevail starting in 2010.  55,087 signatures are needed to get it on the ballad by September, doesn’t seem like any hill for a climber.  I will be signing the petition and voting not only against this but against any state representative that voted for it.

A while back, I think late 60’s or early 70’s, gay pride was a big thing.  I think gay pride took a giant step backwards.  Mobility has always been the great equalizer in our society, there are states that have legally approved gay marriage such as Massachusettees  a short way down the interstate if some one wants to take advantage of their laws that were legally enacted not like California and maybe Maine(al though ours might be legal it sure is pretty low on the ethical ladder).  All of these things are reversible, not that they usually are, but nationally I think it has to be rolled back, there is no way it is sustainable.

Here is another scratch your head.  Pelosi has been caught in an out and out lie, she was briefed as she should have been on interrogation techniques even though she swears she wasn’t, they have her dead to rights.  She can still spin it to her believers I guess.  Here is where I get confused.  If I get called before congress to testify and I lie it is called perjury and punishable by law.  But anyone one in the Government from the most junior congressman to the President can lie all day long and they do and it is just business as usual.  A citizens initiative to require our representatives to tell the truth under penalty of perjury would be a helpful tool.  Now if it involved national security or other privacy issues, they can state, I can’t talk about the and then they haven’t lied, or they could take the fifth.  Just a thought, one that won’t go anywhere, but frankly I am getting so sick of all this deceit.  So far, I don’t think I can point to one thing Obama has said either before or after his election and taking office that has been true, lie after lie after lie.  The latest one is the $17 billion budget trimming, sure he is cutting military spending and a couple of other things, but it won’t come out of the budget it will be just reallocated to another area, you know one of those slush funds. What a political hack he is.   If you add the deficit from the 2010 budget, the Porkulus, Underthebus and the $7 trillion that the fed magically made appear to further bail out friends of the administration, we have added $10 trillion to the debt in less than 4 months, good job you jerks.  The one area I was willing to give him a little credit was Afghanistan and as it turns out that was another lie, so far only 4,000 not combat troops have been sent and in the mean time the Taliban is about 60 miles from taking control of Nuclear Pakistan and our President want to chat, maybe they can do face book.  If 4 months is any indication, this president could be worse than both Carter and Roosevelt, boy that is going some, but he is making both of them look like lily white conservatives.

I am getting a little carried away today, it has been a while since I last posted.  What an outrage the Chrysler bankruptcy is, have you ever heard of the government getting involved in a bankruptcy in such a way that they rearrange unsecured debt above secured debt?  There are so many things wrong with this picture.  Then when the legal bond holders that should get paid first try to get what is legally theirs, they are called greedy and leaned on by the white house like the mob.  They some how they pressured the bankruptcy judge to approve it, when it clearly goes against all business practice and is likely to just about kill companies looking for bond holders to advance their company.  Who is going to put their money in when the government will make them take $.29 on the dollar and give 55% of the company to the Union.  BTW, the UAW gave 99% of its political contributions to democrats except for one, Arlen Specter, this is a big surprise isn’t it.

I hope that most of this isn’t old news that your tired of hearing about, but I have been a little busy with somewhat important things.

Teach your children well

Although it is hard not to do, it doesn't do much good to grip about the present, it is here and we did it to ourselves by not running the candidates that would have enhanced the country not destroy it.  So where do we go from here.  Of course we need to be more demanding of our candidates no more Rino's and that should be our bumper sticker "No more Rino's".  My oldest grandson who I see only rarely to my chagrin, I suspect voted Democratic.  How could he have done anything else, he lives in Massachusetts and has been indoctrinated for 12 years.  They did a very good job of getting out the young vote because they knew that their relationship with the NEA was going pay big benefits.  I was totally isolated from them and could do nothing, I thought.  But in fact I could have done much more and have started to do so.

Voting in the 2010 election I will have 2 grandkids and voting in the 2012 election I will have 4 grandkids.  4 out of millions in Mass isn't going to win the day for sure, but if I can get to them, then may be they will spread it around a little and ultimately it could do some good.  For me at least they won't be part of the problem, even though  unless moving to another state wouldn't be part of the solution.

I had already been teaching them little bits of American History whenever I saw them, which is very little.  Then I came up with a plan.  I would write my own little history for them, with a splash of politics.  Explain to them why Socialism doesn't work, why big spending will never improve the economy, not the difference between a Democrat and Republican because that means nothing, but the difference between a liberal and a conservative.  I ordered copies of the booklet with the Constitution, Bill of Rights and Declaration sent to them and told them what I expected them to know from the documents.  My history I purposely kept lean because when I see them it will be only for a short time and I had to be very specific, it was 10 pages.  Barbara thinks it is way to much and even a college grad would have a hard time learning it in the time they have, I don't see it that way.  I told them they would be tested, gave them sample questions and told them a cash prize would be awarded to the one who got the most right with a bonus if they got all the Presidents(that we did on another trip).

This is America and you can accomplish great things with a little cash incentive.  They received my paper and my daughter called and said they have been reading them since they got them, we can only hope that continues, it is a lot of information.  One of them got all the Presidents and the others although a bit rusty got more than she did.  This is the program I wrote  to help them learn the Presidents, you are welcome to do whatever you wish with it, Presidents Program

I hope this gives you some incentive to work with your kids and your grand kids and in some cases great grand kids.  It is the country they will inherit and they know not what they do, it is our job to give them an alternative so someday it hits them, that old foggy was right.....

There is good news in the future and in the past

The latest Rasmussen poll that is done often for the first time in over a year has favored Republicans, 41% to 38%.  Republicans now lead Democrats in the latest edition of the Generic Congressional Ballot.  This is significant but the Republicans haven't gained much ground the change is do to loss of Democratic support, so a lot more has to be done, but keep up the good fight.  This is a fight that is winable.  I don't want to even get into the cramming of the National Health Care, hopefully it won't be too entrenched  by the time we are able to get it repealed.  Although there is immortality in these laws and so few have ever been reversed and that certainly is a problem.  For those of you and I include my self that want to see a big change in 2010, it is looking a lot better.

Charlie sent me a copy of a letter to the editor that didn't get published, that in itself make it pretty good.  Basically she talked about how people that landed on Ellis Island around 1900 wished deeply to assimilate and left allegiance to their old country behind and took up the torch of freedom offered them in the greatest country on earth.  Where as today even if an immigrant is legal, they expect the whole country to change to suit their old customs, just stay where you were if you like them so much, is my personal take.

I am a 3rd generation American, both my maternal and paternal grand parents arrived at Ellis Island in or around 1900.  Although my fathers side was a bit of a mystery to me and kept that way purposely apparently, I never met them.  I do know they settled in New York City and were part of the Financial System.  Although they came from Russia they apparently made their way into the primarily German immigrants pre 1900 Jewish controlled system.  In fact if you trace Jewish immigrants you would see that even the established German immigrants suffered because of the less trained and skilled personnel coming from Russia and Poland.  The neighbourhood that I grew up in was primarily Russian and Polish Jews.  Even though treated un kindly still assimilated and loved this country.  I can’t imagine that my paternal grand parents came here as Jewish Russian immigrants with any wealth, most likely just had enough to get them here.  They did very well in their new home, an inspiration and example of how anyone with hard work can succeed in this great country.  A quick example of how well they did, for my father’s 13th birthday and Bar Mitzvah sent him and a nanny to the Chicago Worlds Fair in 1933, the depression was already 4 years old and apparently they were still doing pretty well.

My Maternal grand parents I knew more of,  both by stories and by spending some time with them.  My grand mother spoke english very well but of course had an accent, but she also spoke many other languages as well, she was a very bright woman.  They settled in Revere(Named for the patriot Paul Revere)  Massachusetts and they never left Revere.  My grand father opened a shoe repair shop, something very much needed in the day when they didn’t just throw shoes away, they put heels and soles on them and wore them until impossible to do so.  I spend many hours hanging around his one man shop, he had a thriving business even in the 50’s which would have been when I spent time in the shop.  He always had 30 jobs waiting, he labored from the minute he arrived until he closed the doors at night.  Interrupted only when people wanted a shine and he had 3 or 4 shine booths, why I am not sure, there was only  him.  Although he did quite well, he was an ignorant man, he  had no formal education, but he did know how to work and put out his hand for money to pay for his labor.  In those day it was all cash.  He would stuff the money in his pocket, not even counting it or knowing what the days receipts would have been.  They never owned a car but it was a short walk to work.   They always lived in what was called a walk up, a rental that was typically on the 3rd floor, this must have been hard in their later years.   On the way home he would hit a couple of bars and more likely than not get into a fight,  I assume he won some and lost some.  He was usually pretty drunk by the time he arrived home and would be very hungry and expected dinner on the table as soon as he got home no matter what time it may be.  He would empty his pockets on the table which contained what was left of the days receipts.  My grand mother knew what to do with the money once  she got it and so it went for 60 years.  They had 9 children that lived to adulthood, each a contributor to society in their own way, not a bum among them.  Each of their stories are quite interesting as well.

The point of these stories is that people came here with nothing, less than nothing and made lives for them self and their families.  They didn’t expect welfare or anyone to pay their bills or put food on their table or to provide health care, they took care of each other if need be but not as charity, each gave back in their own way when they could.  These were proud people, I remember going to Shirley Ave(main street Revere), men in suits if they were not working, shinned shoes, most clean shaven if they didn’t have a beard which was reserved more or less for the Rabbi, and a dapper hat.  We would go to a real Deli that had 20 or 30 tables, people meeting, talking about the issues of the day over a Corn Beef on Rye.  I miss those days, too bad we are going to leave behind a world that doesn’t recognise tradition and the lessons learned from history.

Ford is impressive

The more I read about how Ford is handling and had the for sight to start the process about 3 years ago what is going on.  If GM and Chrysler knew what was coming they sure didn't act on it.

Unlike GM and Chrysler that have taken Federal Money and are still going bankrupt, Ford has set themselves up with good strategic planning and money management and wise handling of the Unions(More needs to be done) has positioned itself to be a player in the Future.   Ford’s biggest problem is where the other two are doing so badly and their suppliers overlap that it could affect their ability to get enough parts.  As of March 31 Ford had $21.3 Billion in cash as opposed to being broke even with Federal Money.   Much of this money they have from the sale of assets such as Aston Martin, Land Rover and Jaguar and reduced its stake in Mazda and looking to sell Volvo.  A good move allowing them to focus on their bread and butter products.  This didn’t come without a high cost of Union Workers(41% reduction in work force), which seems appropriate being a large part of the problem and many more concessions by the union are needed to make Ford really solvent.  Will the government allow this, it is doubtful, as we all know they have to pay back for the UAW’s help with no consideration to how this affects other workers and the country.  I don’t blame the workers, I think they would make concessions far sooner than the UAW fighting for its existence in an every changing world would.  The sad part is they are shooting themselves in the foot, no man or no union is an island, we are all in this together.  I would like to see everyone buy a Ford although they are not the only ones making great cars in North America there is also Toyota of America and Honda of  Ohio(Accord,RDX, CRV,TL and Gold Wind MotorCylce).  Toyota of America has less information on their website but at least the Camry is made in GA.  I believe but not 100% sure they are made with non Union works, which would explain why they have an edge in the cost of vehicle, not the quality of the cars, Fords are all as good.  I thought that BMW’s were made here under BMW of America, but they are just an import shell.  There may be othere companies making cars  here I need to do more research.  But also there are American brands made else where, such as the Lincoln Town Car made in Canada, I am not angry with Canada, so I guess that is ok and the Town Car although Stounchy is a good car and some cars made in Mexico, the worst cars come from Mexico, I know this to be true and it may be what has hurt GMs quality.  However think about this, the money made by Ford is more likely to stay in this country improving the economy.

There is no denying, this is the worst car market in many years and without some kind of real stimulus by way of corporate tax cuts it is going to get worse.  I am against all bail outs, I don’t think there is a company that is to large to fail.  I have posted those ideas before so I will spare you.  An interesting side note is, I don’t know of one bank in trouble in Maine, that is locally controlled banks.  Maybe we really should think about going back to smaller locally controlled banks without Government intervention, may be the next President would consider that, breaking up the banks much like they broke up AT&T,  this won’t happen  with the present one’s philosophy.  As far as the banks,  isn’t that what the FDIC was suppose to be about, just another gut less trust fund, another deception and part of the Tyranny that has become our government.

There is no fixing this until we get some adult supervision in Washington and there are many people working very hard to make that happen starting 2010 and on to 2012.  Be engaged, let people know the truth whether they believe it or not, whether they think your nuts or not, in the end they will know you were right and our government is so... sooo....sooo wrong.

It just never stops

The latest nail in our coffin is a disastrous National Health Care system that the Congress wants to get passed by Wednesday so Obama can pound his chest and say he is going to save the world.  While listening to Mark Levin yesterday, I listen to it the day after it is aired so it was Friday’s show.  Congressman Ryan from WI explained how they will do this without even as much as a discussion using a loop hole called reconciliation(if your interested let me know and I will send you his comments).  One blubbery nurse called and complained about an issue that everyone agreed was an insurance issue and had nothing to do with Health Care unto itself.  Then 10 or more Physicians and Nurses called to say that this will totally ruin the system.  They now take so many patience that Medicaid and Medicare only pay a fraction of the cost, they say the worst part is the paperwork and a lot of good people have already left the profession and they will leave in droves now.  Leaving us to import Doctors like a 3rd world country from countries that don’t have decent educational systems and people that don’t speak English,  I can see the cereal boxes now, not only Spanish but 5 other languages.  Rationed Health Care with buearacrats making decision that should be made by Physicians and ultimately a bankrupted system as in Britain and add to that  every other way this Administration is bankrupting the country it just might be a total collapse, buy gold, by the time we can stop him.

In the mean time what does Obama do, he blames Bush primarily and goes around the world apologizing for you and I, I think we should post in all the major newspapers of the world, Obama doesn’t speak for us, we have nothing to be sorry for.  This is one disgusting human being and yet there are many stupid people that worship the ground he walks on, I am having a hard time understanding why they can’t see.  My father use to say and I am sure it wasn’t original, “There are none so blind as those that will not see”.  Case in point.  I like a band that attracts a majority of liberals, for you older folks, Yes is the name of the band.  They still are sort of a band but a shadow of what they once were.  The lead singer has been sick and I wanted to find out how he was doing, I hadn't gone to the Yes Chat since before the election and one of the woman I would often discuss political matters with was there, I stayed a few minutes and found out what I wanted to find out.  As I was leaving just for the fun of it, I asked her, what do you think of our new President?  She replied, he has a lot of work to do cleanning up the mess that he inherited, I said Take Care, see you next time and left.  Indeed it was a mess, but a few simple things in my opinion would have gone a long way to fix it, not throwing the baby out with the bath water as Obama has done.  These said fixes I have gone on forever on other posts.  Not to mention that a majority of these problems were created by Carter, Clinton and Bushes Democratic Congress.

So what is really going on here.  I think they must be able to read so I don’t think that is it.   I think they can do 4th grade math so I don’t think that is it.  After serious consideration and I don’t say this lightly.  I think Obama is out to destroy the country that he and his lovely wife think is a mean country.  The proud student of Rev Wright, that people before the election didn’t take seriously, oh he was just there, yes there for 20 years.  It is ok for Obama to take 1/2 million advance for his book deal but he wants the rest of us poor, you see he doesn’t care because he will be a rich man, they can just go any place in the world they want, make their own community on an island it doesn’t matter to them, or maybe on second thought Red China would be good he likes the system there.  The rest of us who either love this country and want to fix it or just can’t got anywhere else are here until we die.
