Worth reading and passing on

My Tea Party group is very well organized.  We have several ways of communicating and it is used extensively, especially the email list that allows whole threads to be seen and a chance to jump in with comments, I like it a lot.  I already was receiving so much good information and this just adds more, never can have enough knowledge.

This was written by a Canadian woman, but oh how it also
applies to the U.S.A , U.K. and Australia.

Here is a woman who should run for Prime Minister!

Written by a housewife in New Brunswick , to her local
newspaper. This is one ticked off lady.  A post this long in the Bangor
paper would never be published, not to mention the content, so maybe Canada is a head of us in this respect.

Are we fighting a war on terror or aren't we? Was it or
was it not started by Islamic people who brought it to our
shores on September 11, 2001 and have continually
 threatened to do so since?

Were people from all over the world, not brutally murdered
that day, in downtown Manhattan, across the Potomac from
the nation's capitol and in a field in Pennsylvania?

Did nearly three thousand men, women and children die a
horrible, burning or crushing death that day, or didn't
 they?

And I'm supposed to care that a few Taliban were claiming
to be tortured by a justice system of the nation they come
from and are fighting against in a brutal insurgency.

I'll start caring when Osama bin Laden turns himself in
and repents for incinerating all those innocent people on
 9/11.

I'll care about the Koran when the fanatics in the Middle
East start caring about the Holy Bible, the mere belief of
which is a crime punishable by beheading in Afghanistan .

I'll care when these thugs tell the world they are sorry
for hacking off Nick Berg's head while Berg screamed
 through his gurgling slashed throat.

I'll care when the cowardly so-called 'insurgents' in
Afghanistan come out and fight like men instead of
disrespecting their own religion by hiding in mosques.

I'll care when the mindless zealots who blows themselves
up in search of nirvana care about the innocent children
within range of their suicide bombs.

I'll care when the Canadian media stops pretending that
their freedom of speech on stories is more important than
the lives of the soldiers on the ground or their families
waiting at home to hear about them when something happens.

In the meantime, when I hear a story about a CANADIAN
soldier roughing up an Insurgent terrorist to obtain
 information, know this:

 I don't care.

When I see a wounded terrorist get shot in the head when
he is told not to move because he might be booby-trapped,
you can take it to the bank:

 I don't care.

When I hear that a prisoner, who was issued a Koran and a
prayer mat, and fed 'special' food that is paid for by my
tax dollars, is complaining that his holy book is being
'mishandled,' you can absolutely believe in your heart of
 hearts:

 I don't care.

And oh, by the way, I've noticed that sometimes it's
spelled 'Koran' and other times 'Quran.' Well, Jimmy Crack
 Corn you guessed it,

 I don't care!!!

If you agree with this viewpoint, pass this on to all your
E-mail friends Sooner or later, it'll get to the people
 responsible for this ridiculous behaviour!

If you don't agree, then by all means hit the delete
button. Should you choose the latter, then please don't
complain when more atrocities committed by radical Muslims
happen here in our great Country!

 And may I add:

'Some people spend an entire lifetime wondering if they
made a difference in the world. But, the Soldiers don't
 have that problem.'

I have another quote that I would like to add, AND.......I
 hope you forward all this.

One last thought for the day:

Only five defining forces have ever offered to die for you:

 1. Jesus Christ

 2. The Canadian Soldier.

 3. The British Soldier.

 4. The US Soldier, and

 5. The Australian Soldier

One died for your soul, the other 4 for your freedom.

YOU MIGHT WANT TO PASS THIS ON, AS MANY SEEM TO FORGET ALL
 OF THEM.

 AMEN !

A time for action

I hope you will all be supporting your local Tea Party on April 15th.

A small Part of my address to our Tea Party,  will be it is time to stop playing the blame game and take action.  Check out what they are teaching in your local schools.  Is their a good program of American History? The founding of this country? A Civics course?  Basic courses in good citizenship?  These are the things that we learned and to have our children indoctrinated rather than taught their heritage is a crime.  Take the time to teach your kids and your grand kids surround them with good books, someone needs to do it, make it you.  Go to your selectman's meetings, demand accountability.  We have lost our way and the government hasn't taken our freedoms and our Liberty(money) away, we have freely given it to them through complicity.  The time to act is now.  Let us find conservative candidates, it is a thankless job but some true patriots will heed the call to duty for a short period of time, which is the way it is suppose to be, representation wasn't suppose to be a job but sacrifice for you country.   We need to fight for term limits for all representatives,  Why is it that a President has to step down after 2 terms and a member of the house or the Senate can die in office(many of them are not far away).  Career politicians are so easily corrupted by the power and all of a sudden they forget all about the reason they were elected.

The time of bitching, blaming and complaining needs to be over, we need to start acting in ways that let others know we are serious.  Don't be afraid to talk to people, so what if they don't agree with you, if you have knowledge you will at least make them think, once they start thinking there becomes hope, because no thinking person can see what is happening as a good thing and if you show them a way out, they may just take it.  But they have to realize there is a way out, it was there all the time but some have lost their way, but conservatism is making a come back.

There is nothing I can say that you don't already know and some times I have to remind myself and we all have to help each other to keep our spirits up, it is going to be an arduous battle.  It is one we have been in for almost 70 years so it isn't going to get changed in a day.

Take Action Now!

Future generations are counting on us
.

What does liberty have to do with it

The hate in this country promoted by the powers is pervasive.  We as conservatives dislike bailouts and taking the rights of companies large and small to fail.  Without the risk of failure, there can be no progress, without progress where is the cure for all our physical aliments going to come from.  One research house competes against the other to find the cure for some kind of cancer(seems to be the battle cry), some will succeed and some will fail and no longer exist.  That isn't how big government sees it, they don't realize that infinite funding without results yield mediocrity not a new drug or an advancing of the human condition.  Research, Car companies, insurance companies and our financial institutions and more to come have been stripped of incentive to excel and will only become like our badly degraded Educational system with its mindless tenured teachers, where indoctrination has been substituted for basic learning skills to protect the power structure that keeps them from actually having to work and make their product better.  In this case the product is a classic liberal education, liberal in this case not used as it has been butchered to mean today.  An education that should encourage free thought, does exactly the opposite and creates drones by the millions.  Any sane person today would home school, turning your child over to the government is just absurd.

Why does big government want to limit your liberty?  Liberty is property, they are inseparable.  This is why the current Administration wants to ruin our economy.  In China they have embraced the international free market system as it can benefit China but the state still owns the vast majority of property, therefore, all the average Chinese get is a barely livable wage and no liberty.  They also know that mobility is liberty, the right to move to another state if you don't like the laws where you are, but the worst kind of federalism has all but eliminated differences  between the states and the Fed seduces the states with your money with earmarks.  This is the reason for two recent phenomena.  The government purposely hindering any kind of energy self sufficiency, this will lead to $10 a gallon gas and unless you use covered wagon, your mobility is limited.  Secondly the housing situation plays into their hand, if you can't sell your house, you are trapped.  Well if you Rush, you can blow it off and move to Florida but the rest of us have pretty much our entire life invested in our home and property.  Money is property and property is liberty, here is the dirty little secret, they don't want you to have any money or gold, for those such as my self thinking that gold and precious metals are the answer, all they will have to do is make it illegal for private citizens to own precious metals and give you worthless inflated dollars, what would stop them.

The struggle we are involved in has so much more to it than deficit spending, what is at stake is the very fiber of our way of life, the take over of your life is almost complete, very soon, forums like this will not exist, right now they are looking at limiting internet the way China does.  Even meeting in your local community is in jeopardy with the installation of civilian watch groups, as used in China and to a large degree in Germany during its worst hours.  This country at this point is almost unrecognizable from the country that I grew up in and it is changing so fast that without immediate action it will all be gone.  For those like Soros and Buffet that have the money to buy an Island if they wish, it doesn't matter but for the rest of us, this is the last bastion of freedom in the world, we don't want to leave, this is our home,  our country.  Wake up America before it is all gone.

I'll take a minute

I couldn't sleep and I had this blog post rolling around in my head.

When I first started writing software for the Mortgage Industry someone said to me the average bank manager can not calculate simple interest, I didn't believe it.  But in fact it is true, without a table they would be lost, without a clue.  So how would we expect our political leaders to understand finance, what they do see, I think, are the reports by the CBO, whether they know how to interpret them is a whole other question.  It seems to be only one of the areas that they are totally unqualified  and yet they control every aspect of our lives and it is only going to get worse before it gets better.

The Bush budget was bad enough, federal spending totaled $24,000 per U.S. household. Obama’s budget would increase it to $32,000 per household by 2019 there is no way this is sustainable and the CBO projects just the interest on the debt to be almost $900 billion, almost doesn't sound like a lot because now they talk in the trillions but trust me it is a whole lot of money.  Simple math, $860 billion on a daily rate is $23.5 billion per day or $98 million per minute, way more than enough for me for the rest of my life.  This is going to be a never ending cycle that has no happy ending.

Imagine your are at your credit limit on your credit card and can't pay the minimum without robbing from something else.  Credit card offers are coming and you decide to get another card to take off the heat and pay the minium payment which is actually just interest only, you would pay this for the rest of your life and your childrens, childrens childrens lives.  Pretty soon, you need to worry not only about credit card one but also credit card 2, and one day credit card 2 is maxed and you go on to credit card 3.  At some point your credit limit will not sustain this and you have a choice to make, none of the options are good, but you are affectively bankrupt no matter how you slice it.  The government is not much different, but for the fact that they can print money.  But there are some other options, China could say,  since you have nationalized everything, I will take GM, Chrysler and the Trump tower this month instead of an interest payment.  That is why it is said that all the mansions in America will only be open to Americans to clean, they will no longer own them.  The other option is to print money which will cause hyper inflation. There is nothing worse for an economy than hyper inflation.  That is why I spent most of my day during the hearings on the Porkulus bill screaming at Cspan saying there are much worse things than doing nothing.  We all know that a simple capital gains cut and or corporate tax decrease would have stimulated the economy like nothing else.  Either way it is the end of the line for America, even the people that thought they had the world on a string by taking everything and spending foolishly in our name and with our money  will be in the same state as the rest of us, or should I say our children and grandchildren.  This is the America which we will leave them.  We will be known as the generation that gave America away because we didn't have the guts to fight for what was right.  This needs to be stopped right now, the longer it takes the harder it will be to extricate ourselves from this quicksand.

3.7 Trillion Budget, look again

Was G.W. Bush a conservative, absolutely not, he ran $300 billion defietcits which was intolerable.  Obama sounding like a Regan Conservative was going the change(there ya go again change) all that with more responsible government.  We conservatives didn't believe it but the general  populous bought his line even after over 20 years of associations with left wing radicals, we are all hoping these people have finally come to there senses.  This is pretty much ancient history.

In comes Obama with a $600 billion annual deffietcit  but that only tells a part of the story.  To really see how this new government works you have to consider the jamed down our throat the $837 billion Porkulus bill(Aka stimulus) and the earmark laden Ominbus bill and trust me there will be more, there is another $250 billion slated for bailouts and if they say $250 billion you know they mean $500 billion and who knows what else is coming.  God knows how much Cap-In-Trade is going to cost us, don't believe the hype, we will take on pretty much the entire burden, how much do you think China will contribute.   Add it up and it comes to a wopping $5.4 trillion but fear not he will reduce military spending by 10%.

We that care about this country need to focus.  It seems like an impossible dream to stop this, but we sure have to try and if not this year then the next or the next and gain back our country.

You can start right now.  Attend and support one of your local Tea Parties.  The whole purpose of these Tea Parties is the let the powers and the citizens know we are not going to just sit by and watch our country disintegrate.  I urge you to attend your local Tea Party and get involved.  From the Tea Parties we go on to the 2010 mid terms and make a 1994 type election.  WE don't have a Newt this time, but if we as a force of millions can have our representatives sign on to a new contract with America, we can change this, there is hope.

There is a way out(Tea parties)

Sometimes it does seem hopeless but one has to believe there is a way to end this madness that has taken over our country by way of a radical government.  We have all been letting our representatives know, for all the good that does, a 6 year term for a Senator is way to much and there really should be term limits, but that is another post.  BTW, Cpac has committed to funding any Republican candidate that will run against Snow, Collins or Specter, Specter is history and then the others will follow.

April 15, take the day off from work and attend one of the Tea Parties in your area and let the powers that be know that we are in great numbers and will be taking our country back, with or with them.  We need to get organized for the mid term 2010 elections but this is the first step, go to one of the Tea Parties, bring a notebook and network with the people like yourself that can make this happen.  I just did a search on Maine Tea Party and bang there it was, Capitol Park, Augusta , ME.  You can do the same with similar results, I am sure. Get off the couch and do something, we need your help.

Boy what a leader we have, he went to the G-20 and agreed with all the America bashing, of course it isn't his fault it is that darn Bush.  I don't remember Bush ever once blaming Clinton for anything, our problems were not caused by Bush, he did as much as he could to get the right Congressional oversee committees to take action and it got him no where, as early as 2004.  Obama went to the G-20 and pretty much said to the world, I am weak,  please love me.  What a disgrace.

Enough for now, if you need a ride April 15th for the Maine Tea Party let me know, barrym@tds.net.

Regan 1964

Mark Levin yesterday played Ronald Regan's speech at the Republican convention in 1964.  It is quite inspiring.  I did a quick edit on it and took out breaks and Marks commentary, if you wish to hear that you can download it from his site.  It definitely is worth the time to listen to.  It is even more true today than the day it was given, where are the Ronald Regan's that we need so badly, if someone could articulate conservative values there would be no doubt that we could take this country back for the people.  It is so ironic that these socialist views disguise themselves as being for the people when nothing could be further from the  truth, it isn't about the individual it is all about power, theirs.  Down load the speech Regan's convention speech 1964, enjoy.

Mark Levin

Until recently I was unaware of Mark Levin's existence.  I think a lot of people are going to know who he is now with his new book Liberty and Tyranny, introduced to me on both Rush's and Sean's shows.  I can't get him live but on MarkLevinshow.com  you can stream or download shows, I download them to my mp3 player and listen to it commercial free as I would any other show.  I find him cerebral and very informative as well as very passionate that doesn't sit well with Barbara that thinks all conservative radio people scream at you, I don't see it exactly like that.  You might want to give him a listen.

Yesterday, Mark did something interesting.  He  listed a 10 point program and compared it to the Obama agenda and then asked what was it.  It was Karl Marx communist manifesto.  I actually knew this from my Russian History course in college.  Which is a interesting story and very relevent to todays educatinal system.  I loved the course, and I love history.  Anyone that has attended college will understand what a blue book is, if not it is about an 8" X 8" blank booklet with I am guessing about 20 pages lined.  I attended every lecture and read and studied all the material and in my mind understood it completely.  Came time for the mid term, a blue book was thrown on your desk and a couple of what we would call essay questions were to be answered.  I wrote and wrote and wrote, filled almost 2 blue books after everyone else had left.  I made the big error of thinking and dared to question the communist manefesto.  You can imagine my disappointment when I got an "F".  It wasn't that I didn't know the material it was that I dared to question the communist system.  This really confused me, all my other courses in and Engineering School were aimed at getting you to think and to think logically.  It was too late to drop the course so I got an F, I wasn't the best student for sure but I had pretty good grades otherwise but it didn't help my average that year.  I should have had it reviewed by someone but I was young and not as bold as I am today.  So I can imagine a Junior High and High School kid without proper training from home being barraged with the same exact mindless acceptance by our all to liberal and migh I add Left thinking Educators.  It is no wonder we have the government we have today.

Buy a Ford

Today the name of GM is officially Government Motors.  Obama and company plan on remaking GM in their image of a Green car company, in other words making cars that nobody wants to buy.  GM left itself open for this where as Ford when thinking it over said, you know what, we don't need your bail out money, we can restructure on our own without your help Thank You.

The F150 is the best selling truck in the USA and I suspect that will continue.  Although all their attempts at better gas mileage have been foiled by government regulation and Ethanol, leaving them and all car companies not really knowing which direction is up.  When Ford deals with the Unions they are really dealing with the Administration, we will have to see how that works out.  I suspect the Administration will put as much pressure as they can on Ford the make them say uncle and take their bail out and loose control of the Family owned business.  We have 4 cars and one driver, will sell a couple.  Our 1998 Lincoln Mark Viii which we don't intend to sell is a 4.6l 300 hp v-8 and before Ethanol was getting 25mpg after Ethanol 22mpg, now that is progress, if you remember that was a whole other post and rant.  Our 2007 Ford 500 3.0l(can't get out of its own way) gets about 22 if we don't use the remote starter, this car should get 35mpg but for the government.  The car is half the weight and a much smaller engine, how can this be?  It is called government, requiring the car companies to increase gas mileage but at the same time chocking their engines with stupid inefficent emission standards.  We hit the point of diminishing returns on emissions a long .... long... long  time ago, somewhere in the 1970's.  It is nice to breath fresh air, I have been to countries that don't have such things and the air will gag you, that was true in 1968, we could have stopped then.

Yes all the American auto makers loose money on every car, that doesn't mean they loose money because someone bought a car, it means the lose is amortized over the number of cars they sell, the more cars they sell the lower the lose.  I say this because I have heard the lamest excuse for not buying an American car so they won't loose money, get a clue.  Getting the immovable force of the unions to budge is going to be a trick and the only way that Ford is going to be able to survive.  You just can't pay people for not working and pay them twice as much as the competition and stay in business.  Toyota pays $45 an hour(withe benefits) for their floor works, sounds  like a pretty good wage to me, UAW workers did get $85, hopefully that is changing to a more competitive number.  Given the disadvantage, all American car companies have done remarkable well producing cars of equal quality.

The way things are going Ford, Toyota, Honda and BMW will be making the real cars of the future and GM and Chrysler(maybe) will be making cars that will need to come with a 5 year tax incentive.

How we got here. Where are we going?

It has bothered me and I couldn't figure out why conservatives would either sit out the election or worse voted for Obama.  I am not sure I have it yet, but I might.  Recently I have been involved in a discussion with a cross section of conservatives.  Like everything else all conservatives are not equal, that is,  have the same views.  Pat Buchanan over the years has shocked me with a few of his views, although I do respect his opinion.

It seems that the far right and the far left come together on some issues as strange as that may seem, proving the earth is round.  Protectionism is a really common issue and also the far right are like the far left in that they see a conspiracy around every corner, I am sure they are different but the principal is the same.  Some even mid stream conservatives thought there was so little difference between Obama and McCain, they would rather the Dems make the mistakes and clean it up in 2012.  I don't think they had any idea that Obama would turn the nations economic wows into a giant power grab.  Dick Morris, said recently, it didn't matter to Obama if he had a second term as long as he can get his agenda fulfilled within his first term.  That is a bold statement, but I suspect more truth than fiction.  Obama has over stepped and needs to get it all done in 2 years, before there are some drastic changes in the Congress.  I think people that thought that during the election will live to regret it.  I have said it a number of times, McCain was far from my first choice, but I would take him in a New York minute.  Mark Levin in his best seller "Liberty and Tyranny: A Conservative Manifesto" doesn't really make much of a distinction between Democrats and Republicans and once they get to Washington I think he may be right.  The system isn't flawed but it has been victimized and it all comes down to one word "MONEY".  Oh, I know, tell me something I don't know.  I guess it is going to take a real disaster, much bigger than 911 to wake the country up.

We sure have become a country of labels.  I am comfortable being called a conservative and don't consider myself excessively right, but when called a NeoCon by a right wing radical, that I didn't take very well.  There are 10 or 12 things that most conservatives believe but only one they all agree on, Less Government.  We make it harder than it has to be, we should always vote for less government above all.  Was McCain going to bring us more or less government, it would be hard to imagine more that is for sure.  But think of all the ways the government sticks its nose in your business.  Simple things, like how much water your toilet can use, whether you watch analog or digital TV, diluting your gas with 10% useless Ethanol.  As you go through your day you can hardly do something without some kind of government intervention.  Now, they want to tell thriving non bailout companies how to pay their employees, next it will be your pay that is regulated by the government, not that it already isn't, when you look at your pay check, there are usually 5 taxes taken out of it, all but one is fixed and you can't deduct a penny from it.

So what is a liberal.  In the classical sense it has been misused and mostly what is thought liberal is really the progressive movement from the 20's and 30's.  Even Hillary when asked a couple of years ago about the subject said she was a progressive not a liberal.  Amity Shlaes in her wonderful book "The forgotten Man" goes into great detail about what a progressive is.    Winston Churchhill bounced back and forth between the liberal and conservative party, when it fit his agenda but never to the labor party.  This is what he thought and compare it to the modern day liberal.  "Socialism seeks to pull down wealth;  Liberalism seek to raise up poverty.  Socialism would kill enterprise'  Liberalism would rescue enterprise from the trammels of privilege and preference.  Socialism  exalts the rule;  Liberalism exalts the man.  Socialism attacks capital;  Liberalism attacks monopoly".  So in item one, have we raised up poverty, didn't happen but now the mission is the bring everyone to the level just above poverty and dependency.  I am not sure I like either definition in item #2, if some one works hard they should be able to find the rewards.  #3 I would replace with the word power, its all about power.  Attacking capital, where have we heard that, sure dismantling Standard Oil and AT&T was good for the country mostly because competition is good.  By Churchill's definition, is Obama a liberal? or what we all have thought a socialist?

This post didn't start out this way, it just happened.  Even before the election I was so tired of hearing Obama's name, I told Barbara if for no other reason I would like to see him defeated so I don't hear his name again.  But that was not to be, even on the Fox News Channel, every news cast starts with the words President Obama.  It is about time he got out of campaign mode and got this country back on its feet, opps I forgot he thinks this is where it should be.  There in lies the difference between modern liberalism(socialism) and what we conservatives stand for, if we don't unite soon, it will be us that ruined the country by not caring for it.

Modern Economics 101

I took Economics in either my first or second year at Lowell Tech, I can't remember.  I got a good grade basically because it had a lot of calculus, and that I understood, but frankly I didn't really understand Economics.  To this day I struggle with it and now it is even more important than ever to understand it.

I struggled with what was in it for investors to buy the most terrible of mortgages, by people that were the bottom 25% of wage earners.  I thought I got a little insight from Alan Greenspan's book, but of course you have to be careful because he does have an agenda of covering his behind.  He described it simply as assets.  That is, that even a bad loan is an asset that can be leveraged, that seems simple enough.  But I didn't understand how they could cover their down side loss.  The answer partial lied in the ever increasing value of properties and many of these people were speculators as well as poor people just wanting a nice place to live.  So as long as the assets appreciated they could leverage even more.  All the while I am thinking, what was the big mystery, how long can you build that kind of portfolio and not have it crash by default.  In other words buying worthless mortgages to buy more worthless mortgage.  I actually worked in the Mortgage sector in the early 80's for about 10 years as a consultant and designed programs to track the loans and at the time the prime rate could change 12 times in a month, so they were  pretty sophisticated programs.  Several of my clients were Second lenders which is very interesting in itself, a whole book on that one.  All the second lenders went out of business during the recession in the early 90's.  So even then it was pretty fragile.

I am left wanting much more detail and less pointed than Greenspan.  A relatively new release "Meltdown" which is suppose to describe all of this according to a lot of people, including Ron Paul.  I always go to Amazon and look at the reviews, I jump right to the 1 stars.  Among them was one that said read Mike Lewis, which is a much better look at the Meltdown.  It was right on line and actually was published last December, it is only 9 pages.  I found it very interesting, but frankly I need to read it a few more times to digest it.

The whole reason for this post is to suggest you read it, and I would be interested in your comments, especially from  those that understand Economics better than I do.  I still haven't figured out what drives our Economy now that all the jobs have gone else where.
Mike Lewis' Article

It never stops

Congresswoman Michelle Bachmann R-MN who gave Tim Geithner all he could handle in committee a couple of days ago.  She is really concerned because she asked Geithner directly about changing US currency for a world currency and he said something like that isn't something we are doing.  Now this wasn't a cocktail party, I think there is something like  perjury associated with lying to Congress.  The next day when asked, he indeed answered it was something they were looking at,  hmmmm....   Congresswoman Backmann suggest that you contact your federal representation and tell them that this is a really bad idea.  She is a good conservative and very worried about this issue.  Sad to say that no matter how many calls, emails and letters they get, the Congress is going to go ahead and do what ever it wants to, that is advancing the Socialistic agenda.  This isn't going to be a big post and I don't have any real insight at this time, other than knowing it would make our money worthless and lowere again our standard of living, but somehow it advances the agenda and at the moment I don't really know how.  Please chime in with comments if you know what is going on.

Some of you might find this interesting.  Some time ago I got a little perturbed because my grandkids didn't know any Presidents beyond Washington and Lincoln and now with Presidents day I doubt kids will even know them.  I forget what grade 4th or 5th one of my teachers had all the presidents in pictures all around the wall about 6 feet high and you didn't get out of that grade without knowing them in order.  To this day, I can tell you any President when asked by number or vice versa.  I wrote a simple program for them to use to learn this and we didn't do anything fun that summer, no go karts, swimming or any of the usual fun things I like to do with them until they knew them all, they learned pretty quick.  I thought I would share the program so you could use it either for your self, your kids or grandkids, give it to your school or whatever, do with as you wish I give you permission.  You can download the program at Download here

It is zipped but just click on setup and it will install at c:\program files\presidents and be in your program list, from there you can make a shortcut and put it on your desktop, if you so choose.  The use of the program is really simple.  A President will appear at the top left of the screen, just click the box of the number you think he was, at the end it will rate you and in a very short time you will get all of them and amaze your friends.

How this all ties together

I have fallen off on postings, it is like a broken record, this is the worst administration since Carter and Carter was an amateur at screwing up the country by comparison.  The mainstream media has become so agenda driven, although even the New York Times has become more critical of the handling of our government.  The best indicator is always the Wall Street Journal, the best written paper in the country, most papers are written for 4th graders and so many people read USA today that is actually written for 2nd graders.  I think the press really lost its way after Watergate and they thought they saved the country, not even close to the truth, in so many ways Nixon was misjudged and persecuted by the media for something that was commonly done in the day and probably still is for all I know, but I suspect the dems could be caught with their hand in the till and it still wouldn't be reported.  Two news stories not being covered that should be, is the progress in Iraq(even though I can't find many facts, if it was going bad we would know it) and it is possible that 18 months could be enough for self sufficiency.  Although the government is so fragile and Iraq is so new to democracy after thousands of years of different forms of government.  I do agree with Obama's idea of strengthening forces in Afghanistan , and there is precious little that I agree with him on.

This is how I see it all tying together.  The radicals from the Viet Nam era are now in charge, it isn't what the American people bargained for when they elected Obama although the signs were definitely but people were so hyped up about Change... Change... Change they wouldn't look at the facts.  So here we are with the government that Karl Marx always wanted and saw this happening by the changing of a capitalistic state to one of central rule.  Which does make sense or there would be no wealth to spread around, even Putan is warning Obama your going down the slippery slope to bankruptcy.  It has been almost 40 years of deceit but they have finally got what they want.  We will survive but it will take 10 to 20 years to recover from the first two months of this agenda driven administration.    But this will be short lived, already Obama has a worse approval rating than Bush did this time in his second administration.  The second thing I wish the press would cover is the Tea Party's in protest of what they and I see as taxation without representation, ergo: the calls against the Porkulus bill when it was in the Senate ran 9 to 1 against and they still did what they wanted.  I understand this is a representative government but the will of the people will speak in the 2010 mid terms with a rout worse than in 1994.

Obama and company have done it, overstepped and mis interpreted the will of the people, maybe next time the American people will actually look into the candidates instead of buying the bumper stickers.  Unfortunately to most of the younger people the election is like American Idol, they have no idea of the consequencies of their ignorance.  Hannity on Thursdays has his man on the street.  He sends someone out with a phone and they just stop anyone that will talk to them.  Most are in their early 20's and have no idea who the Vice President is or any other aspect of the government and guess what, they did vote, sometime an uninformed vote is much worse than no vote at all.  Acorn did a good job getting people that barely know what planet they are on to vote.  Sadly these people are mostly young college students that barely can speak English and are close to illiterate.  Our Educational system is in big trouble when they spend more time indoctrinating that teaching the basics so crucial to the lives of these young people so they don't become a drain on society.

All I can say is keep on talking and don't let them get you down with their ignorance, eventually it will all come out that you were right and they were wrong.  There are still more people with some kind of sense than the mindless ones, at least for the moment.

Always remember freedom isn't free, somebody paid.  I just finished Tempered Steel a book about James Kasler an Air Force pilot that served in 3 wars  WWII, Korea and Viet Nam and also was a prisoner of war for 7 years where he was tortured daily.  Our young people have no idea how much was given so they can have the freedom to text their friend.

Big Government, big inefficiencies

I am starting to get a little discouraged at this rate by the time the midterms are here the country will already be hopelessly in debt and more socialistic than the modern day, Russia, China or India.  The latest is taking the right of workers away and forcing them to vote publicly without a secret ballad and other Big Labor moves to intimidate workers.  Newt on his American Solutions estimates this will cost 600,000 jobs, good job you jerks in Congress and of course Obama is going to rubber stamp anything passed by his democratic congress.  I am proud to say our two otherwise Rino Senators voted the right way on this one.  Things are happening so fast that they hope you won't be able to keep up with it and they are right, I can't see how a working person could ever get a handle on these issues.  Until he finds himself with 20% to spend in his pay check one day soon and the rest of his money going no where because of hyper inflation.  Then he will say OMG what did I do I voted for this President and this Congress.
Of course pork filled spending bill after spending bill that will have nothing to do with workers, the safety of the country or any part of the mandate which is the domain of Government, in other words major over stepping their power, which the American people are just sitting back and ignoring, especially the press which is negligent in their duties to report such abuse.  I just used some simple 3rd grade math to figure out how inefficient it is to get something done with Federal Money, instead of local money.  This last spending bill is close to a 1/2 trillion dollars.  Maine is getting as far as I can tell about $300,000.  Geezzzee Susan Collins if you were going to sell out you sure don't know how to get the most,  that is a poultry sum.  The package will cost each tax payer $6,000.  If we in Maine choose to give this 300,000 to lobsterman, which is a big if.  The cost per tax payer would have been miniscule. There are approximately 600,000 tax payers in Maine, you can do this one in your head, $.50 per tax payer.  Let me weigh this, $6,000 or $.50.....  hmmm.... tough decision.   If they are going to build a bridge to nowhere, I at least want it to be in Maine, so Maine people get some jobs.  If the Stimulus package was suppose to create jobs, some Republican Senators on the floor who can actually do 3rd grade math, found that it would be about $800,000 per job, now that is really efficient isn't it?  This is so depressisng.  Now they want to take mine and your hard earned money that we put into Social Security and give it to illegal aliens, this passed as far as I know and awaits signature to be made into law.  I was a little out of touch yesterday, so it may have already happened.  It isn't bad enough that Lydon Johnson to fund his Great Society robbed the SS fund and since every nickle that is not used for payments is put into the general fund, they want to give it away.  I guarantee you, if you do the math you will find with a small amount of interest that would have been accumulated in your name (and don't forget your employer matches your contribution), you would have had plenty for a very nice retirement.  It irritates the hell out of me that they call this an entitlement, entitlements are not earned, we payed for the damn thing, what an outrage, now they wring their hands and say what to do what to do.  I tell you what to do, put back all the money you stole from the system and stop giving money to people that are as Ronald Regan put it, truely greedy and don't want to get off the couch and work.

Enough of a rant for the moment, although I did have much more, but it wears me down.
