Porkulus II

Don't forget to go to nostimulus.com and sign the next petition on what we all think is a bad spending bill with tons of political pay backs.  I have dropped the ball a little, I have been using a lot of energy to just to stay alive.  Also call you Senator, but you need to do it right away, the Senate vote may happen Monday, I have seen very little of the floor fight, but it looked exactly the same as Porkulus I.  There mission is to come at you again and again until you weaken and more people become dependent on the government and they the country is lost.  I am not sure what they will win, a broken country, it just doesn't make sense, but they just don't seem to care.

Do as much as you can, talk to people you know, even if they look at you funny, your right and they are ignorant to what is really happening and they need to be educated.  As these new spending laws and the Administrations anti business philosphy dont' work and unemployment rises, GDP falls and the country really starts to fail, they will start thinking about the things you have said and all of a sudden, you they were right about this.

Think 2010, the taxpayers of this country need to take back the congress and of course the Presidency in 2012 and then fix a totally broken country.  I fear what will happen if this continues un checked.

I got a very intesting email, I would like to share, thanks Frank.  Why the number of states represented only comes to 48 confuses me a little.

Interesting Statistics
Professor Joseph Olson of Hemline University School of Law,
St. Paul,  Minnesota, points out facts of 2008 Presidential election:

Number of States won by:
 Democrats: 19
 Republicans:  29

Square miles of land won by:
 Democrats: 580,000
Republicans:  2,427,000

 Population of counties won by:
 Democrats: 127 million
Republicans: 143 million

Murder rate per 100,000 residents in counties won by:
 Democrats: 13.2
Republicans:  2.1

Professor Olson adds:
"In aggregate, the map of the territory Republican won by Republicans was  mostly the land owned by the taxpaying citizens of the country."

Democrat territory mostly encompassed those citizens living in government-owned tenements and living off various forms of government welfare.

Professor Olson believes the United States is now somewhere between the "complacency and apathy" phase of Professor Tyler's definition of democracy, with some forty percent of the nation's population already having reached the "governmental dependency" phase.

If Congress grants amnesty and citizenship to twenty million criminal invaders called illegal's and they vote, then we can say goodbye to the USA in fewer than five years

Pass this along to help everyone realize just how much is at stake, knowing that apathy is the greatest danger to our freedom.

A government big enough to give you everything you want, is big enough to take away everything you have.

Get a life

The words of a person receiving my blogs, I am guessing they would choose to be dropped from the distribution which I will do.  It is important that we stay vigilent and keep the flow of information that otherwise would not come our way by the main stream media.  The time is now and not too soon to work toward a better result in the 2010 mid terms, in those states that can be changed, not the case in my state where Olympia Snow won't come up for reelection until 2012 and Susan collins 2014 and my democratic congressman just got in for another term in November.  But there are ares that really could make a difference.  I am sorry to say I was manipulated into the fray of the Rush/Steel thing.  Although I read the transcript and he was difinitely negative toward Rush but I guess Rush's power made Steel aqueous.  It doesn't make the party look very good, but we can't loose sight of the real issue, that is saving our country.

The only thing I am giving Obama high marks on is his decisions on the military presence in Iraq and Afganistan.  Although decreasing the military budget by 10% is a stupid move but that could change.  And of course closing Gitmo is a bad move  but again it isn't a done deal yet.

What is a done deal is the 900 billion dollars to humas  in the guise of helping the Palistines, it is clear that we might as well just give them the rockets that they will use on Israel and then they would have enough to buy a few real bombers for as long as it took for Israel to shoot them down.  We have obviously turned the connor on our support for Israel.  They are strong and hopefully will be able to survive without much help from us, but that still is a big question mark.  I think rather than bringing peace to the region, Israel is going to strike back so hard to every attempt to destroy their country, we would have no real leverage.  Thankfully Netanyahu is back in control and that is the best thing for Israel.  I am afraid throughout the world where Obama is actually making decisions it is not going to play out well.  All of this just means a more dangerous world and will make us a great big target again....   Could we as a nation made a poorer choice for a President, I can't see how.  Even journalist supporters are starting to doubt that Obama is the best thing for the nation, soon he will actually come under actual scrutiny that until now hasn't existed in his campaign or his Presidency, I suspect that once they real come to face the fact that they have been lied to and used, the back lash will shock the  white house, but unfortunately, the damage has already been done.  It isn't normal for Washington to give back programs or power, but in this case I don't think they have a choice, the alternative is a country not worth governing.   By now you have heard there are over 9200 earmarks in the so called Omnnibus, whatever that means, here is a small list of the over 9,000 that Obama is sure to sign into law as pay back.
Your hard earned money at work to pay back political favors.

I am not sure what it is going to take for people to just say enough is enough.

One Party country

There has been a lot going on but unfortunately I was sick and haven't had a chance to keep up.  But there are some things worth talking about.

I was encouraged by the Republicans in the Congress with the exception of the 3 traitors.  But now I am loosing faith again and see no alternative to the horror show that is our national government.  This latest spending bill is 40% pork ala Republicans, now that will get you conservative votes.  I intend to find out all those that did this and suggest they be replaces.  But the problem is deeper, the party is really lost, just too nice.  Michael Steel is praising Obama, give me a break.  I supported Michael Steel but now I doubt the wisdom in that support.  He also has a pissing contest with Rush, similar to that waged between Obama and Rush, Steel calls Rush an entertainer with an ugly show.  Now that is going to get support for the Republican party when 20 million conservatives listen to Rush, no small number.  Many of them were so disturbed by the McCain campaign that they sat out the election and could have made a difference in the out come.  The Republican name has been used since the founding of the country in various forms, the National Republican party became the Whig party and for the election of 1860, the party was dissolved and Whigs and Democrats so inclined made up the new Republican party.  The first national election, brought Abraham Lincoln to the Presidency.  At this moment in time I truly believe we need to disband the Republican party and start a new conservative party.  A little different than the Libertarian party but I am sure it would attract them.  Something needs to be done, we are loosing our country to a one party system.

I have come to the conclusion that Obama is the most gifted politician of my lifetime.  I was thinking if McGovern was elected in 1972 and we had nothing but left wing democratic Presidents since, they still may not have accomplished as much as Obama has in less than two months.  A pity this guy didn't have a better ideology he could have done great things for the country, not run it into bankruptcy.

I was listening to Pravda USA, better known as PBS, on the radio Sunday morning, nice classical music.  Then the news hour came on.  The first story that caught my ear was a report from Washington, generally about relations between the party’s.  His report was that the Republicans were just trying to save their party, implying they didn't care much about the good of the country.  In some cases this might be true, he was referring to the Stimulus package handling.  I saw I am sure more of the floor debate than he did and they were trying to save the country first, or there would be no need to save the party, that is the way it looked to me.  Same report they played a clip from Chuck Schumer, NY Senator who is forever putting his foot in his mouth.  He is the one that said during the stimulus debate that the American people didn't care about these petty porky amendments, what an insult to every American tax payer.  His brilliant statement of the day was "Republicans are advocating failed  80's policies".  Chucky baby, those policies lead to the longest peace time prosperity in American History and your dated policies come from the 30's and failed miserably.  He really thinks the American people are idiots and maybe the people that listen to him as if he has some intelligence are.  There second story that was suppose to gain support for the closing of Gitmo was a retired Sergeant  that worked as a guard at Gitmo that was going to tell all.  He had two stories both had guards getting hurt not prisoners.  There was no report of torture or mistreatment.  Even though he thought they should close Gitmo, he said there were plenty of prisoners that should be there and were truly terrorist.  I am sure they looked long and hard to find someone to give them a good story for their agenda but this didn’t seem to be the one and maybe one doesn’t exist.

The Administration reminds me of the Detroit Pistons of the late 80’s , early 90’s.  They were a dirty team by design.  From the first play of the game they would purposely commit multiple fouls, you just can’t call them all.  Toward the end of the game the score sheet would look lop sided, many more fouls for the Pistons than the opposition.  The officials can’t let that happen, fouls are suppose to be relatively equal so at the end of the game when it counted the pistons got away with murder and the opposition couldn’t move without a foul.  This strategy got them a few NBA championships.  Now the comparison.  We all fought so hard to defeat the Stimulus package, it didn’t work, thanks Susan Collins.  We are a bit worn down from the effort and a little defeated, so what do they do they follow it before the ink is dry with another ½ Billion dollar porky package, according to The Heritage Foundation, this one has over 9,000 earmarks and many are Republican initiatives.  Funny how when the Republicans tried to limit spending,  every amendment was shot down but when they join in, its a spending party for all.  Behind this bill will be many more, plus the bail outs and the mortgage fiasco, like the pistons you just can't stay up with them all.

Even Putin is warning Obama, “We tried it, it doesn’t work”.  Putin and all world leaders are scared to death, they know that our economy drives the world economy and it may never recover causing a world economic crisis like the world has never seen.

A reminder

Congress is still in session, so it is hard to sleep soundly or they will slip something in that will cost you in one way or another.  The house is debating right now after the 800 billion spending bill last week another 410 billion spending bill that will be much more by the time it gets through both houses of congress.  So it isn't to soon to start lobbying your representative and stop this bill that is reputed to have 9,000 earmarks, the liar President of course said it doesn't have any, but his word is worthless.  I haven't been able to get a written copy of the bill yet, I am still trying.  They usually post them on C-span but haven't yet.

The Senate just voted on an amendment to restrict the FCC from implementing the "Fearness Doctrine", unfortunately I missed the final vote so I don't know what happened, I suspect like all other Republican amendments it was rejected.

I have seen the furture

You don't have to be Nostradamas to see what is going on here.  There simply isn't enough money earned in the country to pay for Obama's lame brain ideas.  This is our immediate future.  Lower standard of living and massive government control, it is clear there is no denying it.

However I have seen the future of the Republican party.  His name is Bobby Jindal.  His name started appearing about a year ago.  Unfortunately, like McCain he tried to be too nice and tell goofy stories but he is a really good executive that is doing great things for Louisiana and would do great things for our country and maybe get us out of this mess.  We have at least two rising stars that need to learn how to play the big houses, but that all comes with experience.  His speech didn't seem to please anyone even conservatives.  I am not sure why that is, he expresses good old fashion conservative views.  I don't think it was his finest hour but he is still #1 on me candidates for President in 2012.  We have seen what style over substance gets you.

Obama's speech was as antisipated, a bunch of promises he can't deliver on, I guess he just can't help himself.  Here is the problem, you would have to tax 100% of 2008 incomes to pay for what he wants to do and then it still wouldn't be enough.  Which leads to the question, who is going to work for nothing.  There simple isn't enough money, not nearly enough, to pay for all of this by raising the taxes of the 3 million people who earn over $250K who already pay 62% of the nation's bill.  You think there are no jobs now, wait until he raises capital gains and sends the remaining industry to greener pastures.  It isn't that Obama is stupid, he just doesn't care what he will do to the country as long as it fits his political agenda.  This is what banana republic dictators do.

I only hope that whatever is left in 2012 is enough to salvage our country and bring it back to sanity.  At some point a lot of people, myself included, are just going to say there is no hope and move to a country that they feel is more prosperous, more like our country was at one time, there are still a couple, hell even China is more capitalistic than we are, but not exactly a free country.

I wonder if the people that voted for Obama have a clue yet on what they did.  The reality will hit them some day soon.  Any working person that voted for Obama just shot themself in the foot or even both feet and the bullet didn't stop there it hit all of us.

The big lie and other topics

The big lie

Tonight is Obama's big night to tell the nation of his master plans for the country, all of which will be a lie.  He will sound like Ronald Reagun, fiscal responsibility, balanced budgets and deficit reduction, but it is all a lie as an excuse to raise taxes and spend... spend...spend.  Some of us have known his real plans but there are still a fair amount of people either still fooled or in fairness are willing to support their President for the moment.  I must say that over the years that has been my view, until other data is learned in the early part of a Presidency, I was quite willing to support all my Presidents.  Even Clinton.  Actually Clinton wasn't all bad, he had sound fiscal ideas.  There is an interesting chapter in Allan Greenspan's book on Clinton and other chapters on all the Presidents he worked with.  He thought Clinton very smart and understood the problem with deficits and he actually implemented sound policies.  Allan Greenspan is a conservative conservative.  It also helped that he had more Republicans in Congress.   That lasted about 2 hours with Obama, he wasted no time showing his left wing radical agenda.  He talks like a conservative, balancing the budget, decreasing the deficit but then actions speak louder than words, he acts like a 60's left radical.  Which I believe he is down deep, even though too young to actually be a 60's radical, no Obama is a 21 century left wing radical.  I should watch tonight but I am not sure I can take it and get aggravated and want to throw things at the TV, although I will record it so I can get Governor Jindal's response, which will be the voice of reason.  The more we can get Jindal in front of the people as a real conservative, the better chance he will have in 2012.  He may or may not want the job, frankly for all the money and power I wouldn't take it, but some people were born to be President, hopefully that will be Bobby Jindal.

The Fairness Doctrine revisited

There are basically basically two places to get alternative information not dispersed by the main stream media, there are some alternative magazines and newspapers but they are not timely.  One is of course the internet and places like Townhall.com and the other is talk radio.  The administration would like to shut both down.  Funny how a President like Reagun thought the fairness doctrine, not so fair, even though repealing  it would bring dissent to his ideas, Reagun had broad shoulders.  Broad shoulders indeed, we all took strength and still do from Reaguns courage.  To shut talk radio down it doesn't take an act of Congress as everyone thinks, it only takes a ruling from the FCC, poof .... done.  Although it can be implemented by Congress and the President as well and there is certainly talk of doing such a thing.  FCC more less abdicated their authority and said Congress could do it if they so choose.  That was then, this is now.  There is an agenda topic, I don't know which committee to discuss this very subject.   So Obama takes the high ground saying he doesn't support it, but some form of it will be implemented within a year, I am guessing.  I am not sure if the Internet poses an easier or harder target, we shall see.  Both of these media offer a chance for regular tax paying slobs to have a say that they certainly don't get in Washington or your local government, the Internet more so than talk radio.  Personally I have never been able to get through to a talk radio show, only once and they hung up on me, I still don't know why.  Just another way the Obama administration will take a little bit of your freedom away, inch by inch until you realize you have no freedom.

Amazing how much damage you can do in a month

I have never in my life time remember a President that is so deceitful.  He will say whatever it is that he thinks will pacify the American people and make them feel good about him.  Then he does whatever he chooses, normally the exact opposite of what his words are.  A kind of bait and switch.  He was going to fix everything during the election and then his victory speech he lowers expectations, knowing there is no way.  Stimulus the same thing, it is going to solve everything, but the ink isn't even dry and they are talking Stimulus two, in one short month there is a list of these lies.

It took me a while to figure out what this deficit reduction charade is about.  He is no more going to cut the deficit than he is going to invite me to the White House.  But he is going to pump up the idea, which is a good one, we need to balance the budget and cut deficits.  This will lead to the next step which is the excuse to increase taxes in the name of deficit reduction, but it won't be deficit reduction it will be massive spending.  Of course there is no amount of  tolerable tax increase that will balance his huge spending and decrease the deficit by a nickle.  But that will all be forgotten once he gets the money approved and I am afraid the American people are unconscious at the moment, have taken their eye off the ball believing his lies .

The first President I was aware of was Eisenhower.  So I have seen a fair amount of Presidents, I haven't liked every idea of any of them, but they had my respect and most really had the best interest of the country in mind, even if they were wrong, I will even include Carter and Clinton in that bunch.  This guy just doesn't care.  He must know like we know that this is totally the wrong direction, but it seems to fit with his vision of power and he seems to want more than a President should have and will pay any price, even the fall of our economic system and maybe the country.  We are a strong country and down deep I think we can get through this if it is only 4 years and the Republicans do well in the 2010 mid terms.  But I am not so sure if those two things don't happen if we can really survive without a drastic demise in our standard of living.

There is some hope, there are people like Bobby Jindal (Loisanna Govenor) on the horizon and even during the pre primaries I heard his name in connection with a bid for the white house in 2012, he would get my vote in a minute.  He is refusing to take the stimulus package money, unfortunately it can be over ruled by the state congress, hopfully that won't happen.  His reasoning is sound, this is not just politcal posturing.  Little known is this money comes with a price, it is short term funding for a long term commitment.  He understands this is just going to be a drain on his economy, really just a mandate with strings.  He has also been choosen to give the Republican response to Obama little chat to congress, I think it is Wednesday night.  I don't think I can watch Obama but would like to see Govenor Jindal.

I haven't gotten much response through the blog, not sure why, I can take a good discussion if you see faulty logic.  But it is a good way for me to structure my ideas and to vent, so I guess all is not lost.  Thanks Donnie for the comment, for some reason I can't email you a notification of my comment, so check it out.

Turning water to wine

This Obama guy really does think he is the Messiah.  His latest brain child is not only balancing the budget but cutting the deficit in half by the end of his first term.  We are facing Stimulus II, Foreclosure bail out, bank bail out and industry bail out.  We have already exceeded all spending for the full life of the republic and these guys are just getting started, add to that an attitude of business is the enemy ala FDR and we have the fate of the nation in jeopardy.  I haven't done the math, but I assume it would take tax rates of 75% or more to even approach doing all of this, balancing the budget and cutting the deficit.  This man is dangerous, lives in a fantasy world and Washington is operating with no adult supervision.  I know how it would have been in the revolutionary period, taxation without representation.

The fight continues

Sidney Poitier  an actor  that has made movies I enjoyed and a book that was mildy interesting(I didn't buy it).  Made the most outrageous statement this week. He is calling on fearless leader to limit all companies, not just bail out companies, to pay no more than $500,000.  I suspect a move that would please Obama if he could pull it off.  How stupid, this administration is looking more and more like FDR's failed administration, he too thought that business was the enemy.  These people add tremendous wealth to the economy by buying expensive boats, planes, vacations and other things that grow the economy, where does this idiot actor think that money will go, to people that he thinks deserve it?   It will be money lost to the economy and will even further impact jobs in a negative way.  A side benefit is that they are smart business people(not the failures that need bail out) and are likely to be engaged with some of that money in a start up company and create jobs and wealth.   When I talked about this to Barbara she said he has making equally idiotic statement for years.  I guess that is why he is Oprah's idol.  I wonder what Oprah will think of all of this when her fortune is given away.  Although I guess she is one of the beautiful people and have it safely stored in Swiss banks and a couple of villas in various countries of which she can pick the best one when her man tumbles the country into Bankruptcy, she won't have to stay here like the rest of us.

I am not for any big bail out of mortgages.  Obama's plan is simply stupid.  But I was shocked when an economist from The Heritage Foundation said he liked one part of it and that it had some 20% effectivity.  He liked the part of refinancing if the house was not worth what you owe.  Is this still America???  This is one of the most obsurd things I have ever heard right up there with saving mice in San Francisco to the tune of 30 million.  How would they ever know what a house would be worth when you decide to sell 10 or 15 years from now, you take a credit now and the profit later, like every other investment like stocks you only loose when its down if you sell.  Foster was the guy from The Heritage Foundation, did catch his last name, even THF has idiots.  This in addition to it is just a bad bad idea.

I don't know how we can stop the madness.  I hope when this bill gets to Congress that Coleman is installed from Minnesota and our resident Rino's regain their senses.

Here we go again

Obama today talked about his plan for the mortgage crisis, the next move in his ploy to take over every aspect of your life, while looking you in the face and lying.  Reminds me of a Queen song from their first album, you may not have heard it unless you have the album or listened to alternative radio in the mid 70's.  It was a Queen version of a shout and response.  The lead singer (Freddy Mercury) would make some statement and the chorus would come back with a resounding "L I A R".  Which is just the way I feel everytime I hear Obama speak, he makes a statement and in my mind I hear the full chorus "L I A R".

I can't even get my mind around parts of his convuluted plan.  If I understand it.  It would allow people that should have never bought a home to keep it and we will pick up the bill.  He is going to pressure banks(which he now owns due to bail out) to refinance the balance of home that have lost value due to the housing crisis.  We all took a hit on Real Estate to name only one aspect of where we lost.  I think most of us are not thinking that the government should cause every citizen not to loose because of either circumstance or stupidity.  The first category is a beauty.  We now have to pay for home for people that couldn't afford them by the government that forced banks to take these mortgages, can't wait to see the ways that government is going to improve our lives with no actually money of our own.

All of this won't be funded for long by foriegn investors in our treasury bills.  They will have to power up the printing presses and cause the worst inflation this country has ever seen.   Yes folks there are things worse than depression, that is hyper-inflation.  You all know what that means, especially if you lived through the late 70's.  Job or no job you can no longer afford things, even the necessity items become hard to buy because the money is monopoly money and worthless.

Doug Patton post

I suspected that Mr. Patton's post would be posted later in the day and here it is if interested.
Doug Patton Article

As not to waste a post, a few more ideas of the previous post.

Apparently the green house gases have slightly increased between 2001 to 2007, however the average temperature has gone down not up.  You draw your own conclusions.

I think we should be more concerned about about a Nuclear Winter.  Soon every rougue Nation will have have nuclear weapons and of course that would lead to terrorist groups doing their dirty work.

When I was in college I had the greatest job for an Engineering student.  RCA had a plant that did many government weapons and space projects and I worked as a security guard.  They produced the Lunar Landing Module and other notable projects.  A good job because there was plenty of time for study and if I needed it there were hundreds of Engineers that could help me with a problem.  You get the idea , a bunch of very bright people.  One guy that I would talk to had some interesting ideas.  He said all this fuss about warheads and delivery systems may be needless.  Someone could get into the country with a suitcase Nuclear bomb, in fact probably several, one for every major city and poof.  That isn't so far from what happened on Sept 11, 2001, but Planes were the weapons of choice.  Our borders are still unsecured and I am not so sure they ever could be, it is massive.    In either case their own survival seemed to matter not.  The guy was quite prophetic, this was about 1967.

Still crazy after all these years

More true today than when Will Rodgers first used it in his stand up act.  The country is safest when Congress is not in session, I don't remember the exact quote but you get the idea.  Congress is a collection of idiots, simply put.

Whenever they put their fingerprint on something it is a disaster.  Case in point.  The stupid mandate to use Ethanol, a bio fuel that for one thing competes with food production for resourse that in itself is cause for alarm but it also is a disaster.  Mandated by the Congress in 2007 and I guess signed off by Bush, but Bush was held captive to his main goal which was keeping the country safe and sometimes lost sight of the ball, although I think generally Bush is a good job.

Now we are stuck with 10% ethanol.  I lost 12% of my fuel economy with Ethanol from a 10% mixture.  From what I can determine that is pretty typical and even worse for small engines that wear very quickly as well.  Follow me on this one.  Implemented to decrease greenhouse gases.  It is a net loss of almost 2%.  If you burn 12% more from a 10% mixture that is a net loss, I wonder what set of genius scientist they had in on this one. You could have mixed in 10% water and got better results.   The only thing it has accomplished is to raise the emissions and cost us 10 to 12%.  Global climate changes have been happening with or without us for 5 million years.  If it were not for these climate changes the earth would not be habitual.   Not to mention the fact that over the last 30 years we have gone a long way to decrease such gases and even if every US car was parked and every US business shut down it would not do one thing even if the Global warming thing isn't a scam.  Reason being, India and China are the worst offenders and we have no leverage over China that we owe Trillions of Dollars to, not so sure about India but what is the point.  I love O'Riley's reason for global warming, he can't ice skate on the pond as he did when he was a kid, I doubt .6 of a degree would do that, Bill your pond is polluted, plain and simple.  I am not against a thoughtful cleaning up of our environment.  I lived in Lowell Mass. in the early 70's.  The Merrimac river runs through Lowell and for years was the source of energy for industry and also its cesspool.  Right along the River was a great park that I would love to take my daughter to(my favorite time), as you walked along the wall of the river rats would scurry to wherever rats go, the river was disquisting.  As part of some grant it was decided to clean up the river and stop homes and businesses from dumping, they dredged  the river bed and took out billions of tons of solid waste.  Today that river is prestine, you can swim in it and you probably could drink it.  It was a great thing for the cities and towns along the Merrimac.  They did a similar thing to the lake in the town I grew up in with the same results.  I am not against such things but lets not get stupid and keep focus on what is real and what is important.

Back to Ethanol.  Now we are using a lot less gas and these companies that spent a lot of money tooling to produce Ethanol.  Guess what industry is looking for a bail out now.  Yes they were conned by the government, what is new.  But you put down your money and you take your chances, that is what America is all about.  Case in point.  I did a stupid thing in hind sight last fall, I pre bought 500 gallons of #2 heating oil at $4.49 a gallon.  Today you can buy #2 for less than $3 cash and carry.  I am not going to cry about, I put my money down and took my chances, I lost, I am a big boy I can take it.

In the same tone, Doug Patton has a great article today "Why Our Enemies Are Laughing at Us", It isn't posted on his blog yet but I am sure it will be by the end of the day".

This is a quote from his article, thanks Frank for sending it to me.
"
Another source of amusement for the entire world must be our refusal to tap into our own natural resources to supply much-needed energy. Instead, we have allowed environmental crazies to hold us hostage their “green” agenda. Now those crazies are running our government, and while they fiddle with “alternate” sources of energy — most of which don’t work or are not practical — they would rather continue to give billions of dollars to oil-producing nations around the world who hate us than to utilize our own resources."

Well said.

I am sorry America

Back in November, I seriously considered voting for Tom Allan, the Democratic  opposition to Susan Collins.  My wife thought I lost my mind and others thought it was well out of character.  But my take was that at least Allan was honest about who he was and what he intended to do, not that I agreed with it.  But in the final reel I couldn't do it and voted for Collins.  Down the road from me in Corrina Maine there is a shop that make T-shirts, Howie Carr is always giving them away to promote the guys business.  There have been some cool ones that I wanted but never bought one.  Such as "Joe the Plumber speaks for me" and January 20, 2013, which of course is the day Obama will be kicked out of office.  I am going to have one made that says "I apologize America, I voted for Susan Collins.  Yes the Porkulus package would have passed if Tom Allan was there but there would not have been a deal that makes Republicans look like they supported this piece of crap.  Not that 3 traitors makes a bipartisan be.

I am not sure why, because it was finally over I guess, but I had the first good nights sleep in a long time.  But I am energized and will be fighting until they take all my  rights away, which probably won't be long.

It is time to start getting the most amount of Conservatives in Congress as possible for 2010 and start working on what needs to be done to take the White House back in 2012.  I suggest you contact your State Republican Committees and volunteer and do what ever you can, so we can take back our country before we loose it all.

Time to get ready for the next battle, bailing out the banks.  Boy they have to do a whole lot better job than they did last year.  I had this thought.  I am betting there are a lot of financial wizards out there that could do a far better job than the present management of the failed banks, why throw good money after bad.  Let us try funding some new banks that could actually do a decent job.  Although much of the banking problems have been caused by government, so I am not so sure this is a bright idea.

We just need to take the medicine bad taste and all with foreclosures.  Why someone who  should never have received a mortgage in the first place be helped, why would we help them stay in that home, sounds crazy to me.  If they have any income at all we might help them get into a home they can afford.   It seems to me that there are so many houses available under foreclosure that there will be expensive ones and cheaper ones.  A bank has two mortgages in the same town, one for $500,000 and the people can't afford it and one for $200,000 that they could afford.  Why not offer the $200,000 house without points to the buyer.  Your not kicking them out of their home your offering them a alternative, although it is that or the street.  It seems to me there are so many creative things that could be done.   There was a housing bubble and it burst and hasn't bottomed, nothing Government can do will stop that, so why wasted Billions and even Trillions of dollars trying.

Could this really be happening

Bipartisan?
The House and Senate have been in conference for two days hashing out the final details of this crappy package.  There is one conspicuous omission, there are no Republicans.  Also they are not releasing the text of the new bill and both Republicans and Democrats as far as I can tell are expected to vote on it sight un seen.  They know that Republicans won't vote for it either way, so why are they doing this, to keep it from you the American taxpayer, they don't want you to know, they have been feeling the heat.  Even though we don't know for sure, there are reports that much of the original House pork has been put back in.  We shall see just how much guts our Senator from Maine has, she said she would withdraw her support if that happened.  That is actually the best case scenario, if all 3 Rinos withdraw their support and it becomes a true Democratic bill.  Pelosi says she could care less if it gets Republican support, she is an arrogant whitch.  House vote slated for early today and the senate later today.  One can only hope for a miracle.

Economy slightly better?

Hannity reported last night that retail sales are actually up slightly and foreclosures down.  I don't know where he got his information, I searched  from Cspan to the Wall Street Journal and couldn't find any verification that it is true.  If so, it is as we expected the best chance we have to end this recession is to do nothing but lower corporate tax, Newt is suggesting it be 12% like Ireland.  I am so against  bail outs, let them fail, this is America you have a right to fail.  If 2 of the big 3 car companies make it, they will be stronger and absorb the other workers in all likelyhood.  Worst case is they all fail and 2 new companies are formed without all the baggage.  These Companies will compete strongly with other cars made here by foreign companies.  Actually they already compete very well considering all the disadvantages they operate under and now government intervention to make it worse.   Or they can go through a real restructuring, not the government telling them what they can and can not do.  Bail out after bail out will only make them weaker.  I have run several small businesses, some failed and some had moderate success, enough to pay the bills and have a somewhat decent lifestyle.  I couldn't imagine taking orders from the government, telling me how I move people and how much I can pay them, anyone else see something wrong with this picture.  These companies have given up their freedom and we are next,  they want to control every aspect of you life.  Give me a bad economy and my freedom any day, the economy will come back but the measures taken in the name of stimulus will be forever, forever bad.  The very thread of our country is in jeopardy and those that think they will be getting something for nothing will soon realize they will get nothing and the nanny state will run every aspect of their life, they will then join us but it might be too late.

The new mantra

Now that they have close to the stimulus package they want, the word is it won't be enough and many more of these packages will be needed.  This came from Senator Snowe this morning on our local talk radio show.  The hosts didn't ask her any touch questions and didn't allow callers to talk to her, many of them that are pretty peeved.  Our Democratic Governor was also on earlier singing the praises of our two Rino Senators and of course praise from the President.  Snowe is up for re election in 2010, I sure hope we can run a conservative against her, win or loose at least there will be some choice, Collins is in until 2014.  So there ya go, you can expect them to go back to the well every few months until they finally get all they want in the name of stimulus, while they bankrupt the country, good job you jerks.  The calls into the radio station over the last few days after the deal has been struck have been overwhelmingly not kind to the two Senators.  But Collins says, the calls she gets are an interesting mix, translation, many more against, other wise she would have said she had overwhelming support.  The hard part is going to be getting good articulate conservatives to run, you wouldn't think it would be so hard,  but it is.   Now "Americans united for Change" are at it again (they must be in for a large share of the pork pie), directed toward our state, telling us to call Collins and Snowe to tell them how great they are.  Sure I will call them and have several times and then I will call them a traitor.

The other day I wrote about Harding, I find it fascinating and also find it deplorable that our representatives no nothing about history.  I was a little wrong about Harding, he knew exactly what he was doing.  Woodrow Wilson was as far as I could tell a Jimi Carter type and made all kinds of intervention moves, government intervention always causes recessions and depressions.  By 1921 when Harding took office he inherited a depression that was worse than what FDR had to deal with.  I now think of Harding as the Ronald Regan of th 20's.  He cut government as much as possible and cut corporate taxes.  In less than a year the country was thriving again and did so for the next 8 years.  For all the talk about Hoover doing nothing by our Senators of today, it isn't true, he tried a lot of things, and none worked.  In fact Hoover was Hardings Commerce Secretary and pushed hard for Harding to put money into infrastructure, Harding refused.  It seems to me as I look at history, infrastructure improvements should occur during time of prosperity, it doesn't do a thing to stimulate real long term employment and only takes away from the private sector.

My advice to Collins and Snowe and many of their colleagues, read a book once in a while.

Brace up, this is only the beginning, hopefully we can stop the bleeding in 2010.

It is obvious that the Congress could give a rats behind about what you think.  I know it is a replublic and not a democracy but when the numbers are so high, you would think they would get the message.
